The senator's comments also marked a sharp reversal for his support of Roberts in 2005, BuzzFeed reports.

The report cites Cruz's support for Roberts' nomination in a 2005 op-ed piece for the National Review and an internal memo he wrote as Texas Solicitor General praising Roberts' skill as a litigator.

"I’ve worked with John and seen him argue numerous cases, and, to my mind, there’s not another appellate advocate who’s even close," Cruz wrote.

Flip flop, flip flop, flip flop Teddy; he flips and flops more and faster than a flag in a tornado!

Unless Cruz supports impeaching Roberts, it means nothing to say he “supports” or “does not support” Roberts.

Does Cruz support stripping abortion, gay marriage, and Obamacare from the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court?

Question to anyone...

Ted Cruz helped write George W. Bush's immigration platform in 1999-2000.

In 2005-2006, did Ted Cruz ever make public statements about the Bush-McCain Amnesty - either for or against?

Thanks.

Didn’t see a single negative comment about Roberts on FR when he was appointed. Please link us to yours from 2005.

He was quite gracious that evening. Thereafter he went back to campaigning.

I’ll take liberty via tantrums any day. Those longing for eloquent statism can go ESAD.

Have you stopped to consider that the judicial philosophy of the Chief Justice Roberts of 2005 is a seemingly totally different philosophy of the Justice Roberts of 2016 and that Justice has made some judgements in the last 3 years that are astoundingly bad and obviously contrary to the law.

It's almost as if Roberts is being threatened or blackmailed on major cases.

For whatever reason's, Justice Roberts has changed under Obama and the change is for the much worse.

Pretty much everyone has changed their evaluation of Roberts.

it's not a flipflop when when you revaluate your opinion and support of a once brilliant Constitutional lawyer who has went over to the dark side

Both of them have now FLIP FLOPPED and IF Trump hadn’t brought up Roberts and blamed him for ObamaCare, which IS the truth, then Ted would NEVER have disowned his BFF Justice Roberts!

“Didn’t see a single negative comment about Roberts on FR when he was appointed. Please link us to yours from 2005.”

I opposed John Roberts on Usenet, and I defended Bush’s Air National Guard service and his actions against Iraq. I lurked on FR, not posting, in part because I was busy posting on Usenet and other fora. I agree with Trump about the defeat of Iraq creating a power vacuum, however, I disagree with Trump to the extent it was necessary to do so anyway as a consequence of Saddam Hussein’s continuing aggressions. there, does that give you the excuses you need to be critical?

I agree that someone/s "got to" Roberts, but WHERE was Ted, years ago, when Roberts pulled this garbage? I'll tell ya where.....Teddy has been silent as a tomb, until Trump laid it all out.

Cruz has NO ideas worth a pail of warm spit and has COPIED ( doing his little OH, OH, ME TOO, ME TOO act ) Trump long after Trump has said something!

Agreed. FReepers were united on the Roberts nomination. I’m not sure we got it wrong then but the latest scuttlebutt indicates Justice Roberts was compromised. I truly don’t know what to think about this. But hey, I still wonder about William Colby. ;o)

“None of DT’s flip bother you.

I have no means of telling which it is, but either you are not reading them or you have amnesia and cannot remember them, but I have repeatedly disclosed in various posts that I have not endorsed or supported any candidate and have criticized all of the candidates for their various failings. Previously, I have served as a delegate, and I will likely be asked to do so again. If and when I do serve as a delegate, I will have to represent the constituents faithfully. If the constituents select a candidate I am convinced is ineligible, I will be compelled to act in good conscience and withdraw as a delegate. Its unfortunate you cannot refrain from taking a partisan point of view rather than an American patriot’s point of view in which all persons are fallible and some more than most, with all of them being rightfully subject to criticism for their failings and praise for their good accomplishments.

Now, what more do you want to say about your pejorative, “Trumpees “?
