10,000 Migrants to be Housed in Berlin’s Luxury Hotels While Local Homeless Go Without Shelter
Breitbart ^ | Feb 3, 2016 | Chris Tomlinson

The Berlin Senate has announced an audacious, and some would say totally inappropriate plan to house 10,000 migrants in mid level to luxury hotels in the city with a total price tag of at least 600 million euros.

The senate has requested a contract with Grand City Hotels to lease out 22 hotels to house migrants in the city. According to German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine the senate entered negotiations with London-based Hampton Holding, the owners of the popular Holiday Inn and Wyndam hotels in Berlin.

There has been outrage across social media platforms in Germany and elsewhere on the deal with many commenting on how there are an estimated four to ten thousand homeless on the streets of Berlin and that there has been no mention of them by the senate.

Luxury accommodations for migrants have already been provided in Sweden, as Breitbart reported back in November when Swedish government agencies took luxury cruise ships for housing for migrants as well as ski resorts and hotels.

They’re fairly certain the homeless won’t kill them. The “migrants,” not so much.

I wonder if there is something in the water supply and should be checked out. When people like Merkel go stark raving mad what else could be the cause?

“They won’t be luxury for long.”

Those exact words popped into my mind the minute I saw the headline. Germany is toast!

What is this obsession and love affair with sexual deviants and Islamoterrorists that is going among people who would otherwise be considered as being normal?

IMHO...If one citizen of a country is homeless, all others should wait in line.

I will note two observations (I live in Germany).

This deal for the hotels? No connection to Merkel or the German federal gov’t. Since day one....the federal gov’t out of Berlin has simply mandated that states and cities run the refugee program. The only federal involvement is deciding the percentage that each German state gets, approval or disapproval of refugees, and handing money to that state to run the shelter/integration program. Berlin, the city....did the hotel deal themselves. They expect to be paid....Euro for Euro...for all costs.

As for this 22-hotel chain in Berlin...around three of the hotels are two-star operations with significant count of rooms. I checked pricing for the two-star operation....standard pricing right now if 44 Euro a night, and if you browsed for specials...you could probably get the room for 35 Euro (extremely cheap). My guess is that the bulk of all these rooms offered will be from the two-star hotels of this chain. I also suspect that there is a option written into this contract that if ‘damage’ is done on the hotel...the city has to buy the hotel.

Personally, I can’t imagine any hotel chain wanting to get into this and have tripadviser comments that this hotel or that hotel is a refugee hotel. It simply doesn’t make sense....unless the deal was about dumping a poor group of performing hotels over to a city in some underhanded deal and forcing the federal gov’t to pay for this later.

I should note that over in the Pfalz....last year they were discussing the idea of renting a Rhine River cruise boat to house 500 refugees. That never took off because the public just started laughing over the idea of a cruise boat being used.

Why would a hotel refuse this guaranteed source of income? If I had the federal government come and tell me they will buy every item I produce (in this case hotel rooms) I would do it. Why bother with customers when you don’t have to do anything.

The real fun will be when the ‘migrants’ trash the place and start complaining that the rooms aren’t to their liking.

I wonder if the hotels will be forced to stop preparing any pig-based foods while the “guests” are there, even if PAYING guests want them?

‘I’m sorry sir, we can no longer serve sausage - those nice people you saw pooping in the pool this morning have complained, and now YOU don’t get to have any!”

I think that’s the general plan. Once trashed....damages go back to the Berlin city gov’t and they just hand the bill over to the federal gov’t.

If you were looking for a bad program to run for asylum/refugees....Germany has about the worst program to copy.

And I’ll go ahead and bet that not one single room from the four-star hotels under this chain....will be used for refugees.
