I live in Iowa, and I did not hear anything about this before or during the caucus. In fact, it wasn’t until late that night that I first heard anything about this. I suspect that this brought up in very few precincts, simply because the text was sent out just a few minutes prior to the start of the caucus.

As I said, nobody got up and said anything about this, at all. So, what happened? Cruz won the precinct with 28.7% of the vote. Carson tied for 5th place with a whopping 4.7% of the vote.

Instead of Carson getting upset with the Cruz camp for sharing the CNN news story, maybe he should be upset with himself and his people for whoever sent out the poorly worded, vague announcement that CNN reported on.

And then, to come back with the most LAME excuse ever, that he was just going back to Florida to get a change of clothes?!?! Really??? That’s what you’re going with, Ben? What serious candidate makes that argument? It’s simply laughable.

Yeah, I just watched the CNN report on Hannity. No harm in what Ted’s guys tweeted out. Carson DID decide to jump off the campaign trail that night. And with a really lame excuse about “fresh clothes” whatever that means. That’s fair game for a caucus certainly.

If there was a report Jeb had to go back to Florida to sort out Columba’s credit card bills and Trump would have tweeted out that he’s a quitter, we all would have thought it brilliant.

"I live in Iowa and I did not hear about this before or during the caucus"

That's because the story broke on CNN 15 minutes before caucus started. And CNN did make it sound like Carson was dropping out. They said he "had a big announcement" and speculated in "Why would Carson not go to NH and SC?" questions - Anyone watching it would have thought Carson was dropping out.

Not surprised any campaign would try to pick up votes after seeing that report..

The blame for Carson losing votes from this is entirely the fault of one man- Ben Carson.

That he (Carson) is now cozying up to the man who implied he was a pedophile, violent and unstable without his medication, a quack bad surgeon, and a liar-that he is joining this man in a phony attack on Cruz- is a level of pettiness and jealousy(?) that I have never seen before.

But anymore- nothing about this election surprises me.

Continuing with my prayers that Cruz will be our next president.
