I think it’s a mix of the craziness in the twitter world, the adrenaline of campaign staffers on the Rubio and Cruz staffs. I know I’m looking for EVERY advantage if I’m a staffer. It was a thoughtless thing to do, but it didn’t affect the outcome.
Trump’s reaction illustrates why I don’t support him for president. But, then again, I don’t support any of them at this point.
Trump lost because he failed to convince enough voters in Iowa that his vision of America is the best direction to move him.
He simply didn’t do a good enough job, and he was defeated as a result.
He was not defeated as a result of what happened between Carson, Cruz and Rubio, so his suggestions of a do over or law suit are preposterous, and they will only serve to help him lose the next election, and if that happens, he’s done.
Trump responded well to his loss the night of, but it seems like shortly thereafter he went into a funk and has continued to wallow there, and he is doing himself no good at all.
He shoulda took the high road, but he didn’t, so that is there for all to see and make decisions based upon it.
Now, that’s all I got to say, I’m back to not responding to you.
I definitely do not think it affected the outcome either.
Trump wasn’t expected to win, and he didn’t win.
This was Trump’s chance to demonstrate how he handles defeat, and he has failed miserably.
A true champion knows how to win and how to lose. A true champion can turn a loss into an eventual victory if played properly.
Trump has shown a glaring personality flaw here.

I think you’re right. Even while I don’t support him I thought he did very well Monday night in his speech and hoped he would maintain his dignity.
I actually thought Trump was expected to win. That’s what the majority of the polls indicated.
Mmm. Maybe. I might be wrong about Trump not being expected to win. Let me just say that I didn’t expect him to win Iowa.
If he was leading in those polls, which I think you are right he was right there at the end, he should learn that just because a poll says you are going to win doesn’t mean you’re gonna.
The voters say who wins. That’s all that matters in the end.

The last caller made a good point. In the end, the “fault” if there is one, lies with Carson’s campaign itself. How did that info get to CNN in the first place? And the information was “tantalizing”...not going back to NH or SC...going to have big announcement next week.

It’s clear that Carson is a noobie campaigner. I mean clear.
I don’t know how CNN got the information, and yes it was tantalizing.
But it’s up to an individual person to decide what they do with such information. Is it reliable? Does it say what you think it says, or does it say what you want it to say?
All they had to do was call Carson and ask him, but instead they ran with it in a way that was advantageous to themselves.
They exploited an opportunity.
I would expect this of professional pols. It’s very unseemly.
I’m not going to defend them on this, and yeah Carson needs to tighten up. If you leave your front door unlocked, chances are someone will walk right in, so don’t create opportunities for opportunists to take advantage of.
Far as Trump goes, this really doesn’t concern him, and he is using it to his disadvantage.
