That looks like those two sisters who were involved with the Petraeus scandals.

Only 18 posts down from Jim’s patient plea for cvility and already CJ is trying to meet his quota of digs for the day so he can get paid by his handlers. Which click farm are you working today, CJ? Rubio’s, Hillary’s or Putin’s?

I so agree with everything you wrote. God has this election in His hands; but this nation has done little to deserve His favor lately. Yet there can be no political salvation. Wake up, people.

Why don't you ask a soldier? Many of them have worked for the government up to their dying day.

Few soldiers ever get to make policy; senators and congressmen do that all day long. Different level of culpability.

That's concerned me, too. The infedility rumors that can explode at just the right time like Edwards, doesn't have to be a baby involved. Also his not voting and running around fund raising. I hate it when the Dems do that, raise money on company time.

Also putting personal stuff on his Party charge card does not sit well with me. I just don't like him.

When I watched Obama getting the crowds so excited, I wondered why couldn't we get somebody like that? Well we have one now, Trump, which is a thrill (I don't get excited like that over people even if I like them). But as others have said, his negative traits I don't know if I could violate my conscience to vote for him. He said so many right things I've been waiting to hear from somebody. I think he would do his best to come through if he could. Like somebody said, he would put Schumer, Feinstein, and Pelosi in their places, we can hope. Maybe he's been friends with them, too.

Cruz is so unliked, worse than Hillary, that I don't see how he can win. I did like him when he put it on the line to filibuster and especially when he called what's his name a liar.

That leaves nobody else because I'm tired of them all, wouldn't vote for one of the ones left.

Trump or Cruz. I don't even care if Trump isn't a bona fide conservative any more although I do worry a little if he would play fast and loose with the constitution. Abortion, let him keep it to himself. Nothing is going to be done about it. I just can never vote for a Dem because it's a party plank.

Jim Webb with that Hawaiian congresswoman, she wowed me. But they are pro-abort Dems so I couldn't go there even if it were possible.

That was really accurate, Jim, which is not an easy feat in this most dramatic presidential
races. You have presented a dispassionate, precise analysis of what has taken place thus
far, in an environment where every journalist is descending into hyperbole. Every
journalist.

Thank you, Jim, and I agree.

I think that’s an excellent, very clear summary of the showdown between these candidates and their relative strengths and weaknesses. Although reading this it appears Cruz has fewer weaknesses to speak of.

I have been a Cruz supporter at least since his Obamacare filibuster. That was an extremely bold move that threw down the gauntlet to both Obama and the GOPe at the same time. Not only were his positions right, but Cruz exhibited a charisma and an ability to articulate his message that so many stiff politicians just can’t do. I met him in 2014, shook his hand and told him I’d support him if he decided to run for President.

I was more in the camp of hoping Cruz and Trump would form an alliance and team up a month ago. Once Cruz got up in the Iowa polls, Trump started attacking him, mostly on non-policy issues, that changed the political equation. I don’t think Cruz and his supporters had any option in the lead-up to Iowa other than going after Trump on all fronts. I think Trump made a bad miscalculation and would’ve won Iowa if he had avoided going negative on Cruz and also attended the Iowa debate. You defend from a position of strength, which Trump had, and only attack from a position of weakness.

Now that we see the establishment deciding on which candidate they’re going to coalesce behind, it appears both camps have a bigger threat facing them. These two candidates and their supporters need to focus on how to take down Rubio now, who with fully-funded establishment backing and Fox News’ RINO propaganda arm, could become a formidable threat to both of them. It seems like if Cruz and Trump keep hitting each other and mostly ignore Rubio, Rubio will slip right past them and march ahead.

At first glance, Rubio appears to be a trickier target to attack. My first suggestion is to start calling his fo9lly “Gang of Amnesty” instead of “Gang of Eight.” Reiterate how when push came to shove and the establishment came calling, he broke his campaign promise on one of the most fundamental issues to conservatives. We all know we can’t trust him on immigration, but who’s to say he won’t flip-flop on abortion or something else too later?

His caving into establishment demands on immigration also shows that he is weak under pressure. Which can lead to the idea that Rubio doesn’t have the gravitas to seem like he’d put the fear of God into any of our international enemies. On economic policy, Rubio is a clear lightweight. He hasn’t handled his own finances well and doesn’t have a clear, articulate economic policy. Rather than issues, his speeches always focus on Obama-like emotionalism. This keeps him more off the record on actual issues and gives him more wiggle room to compromise on his positions later.

There is still the possibility to get a Trump/Cruz ticket even if it’s against their will. If they’re able to keep Rubio down in vote totals and both do well themselves, they could both fail to meet the delegate threshold to win the election outright, but have more than enough delegates together to form a winning ticket together. However, I’m not totally sure how the convention rules work. So I’m not sure if it’s that easy to make your delegates vote for someone else. It might depend on if you get your own loyal people elected as delegates as opposed to the GOPe hijacking them.

Sir, you knocked it out of the park, again. Your clear thinking and consistency always impresses me.

I have liked both men, Cruz and Trump.

I presently stand with Trump.

Much thought, much reading and many prayers have been the sources from which I have drawn my conclusions. Oh, there is one more thing I do to help me set my compass, I look into the eyes of my grandchildren.

Thanks for your post... it’s got leadership written all over it.

I’m upset that Cruz thinks he can lie and cheat while holding a bible open. Cruz as POTUS i just cannot see, he isn’t strong enough of a personna to the world leaders, Trump is.

Trump has a better resume for the current job opening, Cruz had one maybe for 20 years ago, different job requirements now.

And thats how i see it, i have looked at each ones resume, and i believe Trump has a better handle on how to take over a disaster and to get the job built, faster, better, and for less money.

And i would like to see a daily and cumulative totals of each candidates money spent per vote. Cam anyone do it cheaper than Trump? And just why on earth is it a good thing wasting thousands on each and every vote?

Cruz is so unliked, worse than Hillary, that I don't see how he can win.

This is constantly said on these forums. I don't know why. I know O'Reilly and Fox constantly say Cruz is "too conservative" to win in the general election, repeating the same arguments they made for McCain and Romney that went down in flames.

The polls show Cruz can beat Hillary and does better against her than Trump.

How is it someone can claim to be lifetime conservative but always working for the govt?

One big problem with the government is that liberals keep going into it and running things. We need conservatives to seek elected office and be in the government to change it from the inside.

The reason Trump has that boldness and audacity is because he is beholden to no one. The others, not so much.

Well I want our President to be beholden, with dread, to God. That's the crux of the problem I have with the self worshiping Trump.
