Typical gibberish from a lawyer. He knows exactly what the media reported - and NOT ONE WORD of it stated Carson was “quitting” or “suspending” his campaign

The only way any listener could conclude that the CNN report was a statement of Carson’s dropping out of the race would be if that was the narrative they wanted to believe.

The excuses that Senator Cruz now offers as his explanation simply do not jibe with the actual on-air statements made by CNN reporters. Senator Cruz is caught in a lie, and he’s now desperately trying to spin his way out of the web he has weaved, rather than fire the individuals responsible and surrender a couple of his delegates to Carson.

Moreover, Rep Peter King - a Cruz operative - went on Twitter, and started a rumor storm that Carson was quitting the race.

Further, there was a TWO HOUR interval between the initial media report and the start of voting, during which time the Cruz campaign staff could have checked to be certain of their facts before sending out the e-mail, about Carson quitting, to all their precinct captains.

This whole thing stinks - and Senator Cruz is attempting to muddy the waters with his lawyerese BS.

The issue is not going away - no matter how often Ted Cruz runs his “I’m innocent” narrative. He screwed up, and he is now only making the situation worse.

Exactly what did Team Cruz tweet?

Did they say in the tweet that Carson was quitting or suspending his campaign?

Or was it essentially a repeat of what CNN originally tweeted earlier in the afternoon?

The one who made the wrong tweet message was Congressman Steve King. This was what he tweeted:

“Carson looks like he is out. Iowans need to know before they vote. Most will go to Cruz, I hope.”

I don’t know where King got that impression but it might be from the original CNN tweet ( which never mentioned anything about quitting ).

Is it your contention that Cruz and King were in cahoots?
