Does LePage think he’d be a better president than Obama?
Bangor Daily News ^

For years Mainers have been pulling our hair out over the absurdity, idiocy, and outright delusions that have come from Gov. Paul LePage’s mouth.

(SNIP)

And the third one was John Kennedy, but we don’t know if he’d’ve succeed or not. But the other two are not known for being successful.”

(SNIP)

Sure, the list of past presidents who were governors before taking the White House includes Thomas Jefferson and Franklin D. Roosevelt, but it also includes Calvin Coolidge, Ronald Reagan, and George W. Bush.

Not exactly a stellar list.

As president, LePage concluded, “you’ve gotta make some decisions and you’ve gotta make it quick. You’ve gotta have some sound judgment behind it.”

One can only imagine what was going through Christie’s mind as the man from Maine who’s been dubbed “America’s craziest governor” made the case for sound judgment in the same breath that he encouraged people to vote for the governor from New Jersey.

LePage is a national treasure and is well loved in the state by everyone except leftists.

However I had several leftists tell me during the last election that they were voting for LePage because of his sound fiscal policy.

Let me tell you how hateful the leftists are in Maine.

One runs a restaurant chain called Governors. Governors has pictures of all the past governors of the state of Maine, except Longley, the most conservative governor in the last century. A great governor.

I think we can safely assume any governor, of any party, thinks they can be a better president than whoever is currently president, regardless of party.

Coolidge and Reagan were two of the best Presidents (from either party) in the 20th century.

Harding was good, too, and Coolidge would not have been possible without Harding.

No offense to Le Page, but Obama has set the bar pretty low. Anyone who didn’t intentionally set out to make a mess of things — no matter how bad the were otherwise —would be better than Obama.

I live in Maine and I think Gov. Paul LePage is a GREAT governor.

I voted for him in 2010 and 2014.

He is one of something like 16 children. His father was abusive. One day, after hitting a young Paul LePage, his “father” gave him a half dollar, dropped him off at a local hospital and said, “Tell them you fell down a flight of stairs.”

Young Paul lived on the streets for a while, shining shoes and doing odd jobs. Another family took him in, and eventually Paul LePage went to college, became the CEO of Marden’s, a chain store in Maine, and mayor of the city of Waterville.

He doesn’t suffer fools lightly, and is very knowledgeable about business.

LePage has hinted about running for the U.S. Senate in 2018.

LePage is a pretty good governor by conservative standards, and is a phenomenal governor compared to the usual troglodytes Maine chooses.

LePage has been a wonderful governor.

Maine, a state I love deeply, is an Appalachian backwater that anyone with brains or ambition has left by age 18.

The state is suffering terribly with an influx of impoverished Somali refugees recently.

They have been a tremendous drag on state and local resources and contributed greatly to social tensions.

In their defense, however, the presence of illiterate Somalis has had the effect in Maine of raising the local average IQ markedly.

Any of the 40% of Americans who claim to be conservatives would be a better President than BHO.

And by “any” I mean “any”. There are literally 50,000,000 Americans who would make a better President than Hussein. And that most certainly includes LePage.

Paul LePage would be a better president than Obama, no question. I love him too and I’m not from Maine.
