Rubio now the clear favorite according to prediction markets
February 2, 2016

According to PredictWise, which aggregates the results of betting markets, the candididates' chances of winning the nomination are now 54% Rubio, 26% Trump, 13% Cruz, 4% Bush. A day ago, before the Iowa cacuses, the chances were 51% Trump, 33% Rubio, 10% Cruz. So the biggest winner in Iowa was Rubio.

I think Rubio is the most electable candidate, because Cruz (who I like) is too conservative for the country. If Rubio is elected president, I hope the congressional GOP can stop a bad immigration bill, as it did under George W. Bush.

If I remember correctly, the “betting markets” in the aggregate went to the moon for Trump, right before the Iowa caucus began.

I question their predictive power.

Agreed. I decided Rubio was the best choice during the last week and finalized it yesterday.

I had a strange thought about the left, Democrats know that Hillary & Bernie have no chance with all the baggage of the past 8 years of Obama against the outsider candidates. I think Democrats crossed over to vote for Rubio. Just like the GOPe got democrats to vote for Cochran in Mississippi.

They voted for the least harmful Republican to keep the political elite status quo in power. Rubio is that political elite class candidate. Rubio is woefully unprepared to be President and can not stand up against stronger politicians. He rates with Ryan, McConnell, Boehner et al as a Rino. Democrats also know that Conservatives won’t hold their nose this time and vote for Rubio. So there would be a chance for Hillary if the fix is in for her to be the nominee.

Cruz and Trump kill each other off state after state.

Rubio becomes the ‘he can win’ guy - just like Romney.

Fox news last night had a commentator call Rubio “He’s John F. Kennedy to Hillary’s Richard Nixon.”

All scripted.

Trump and Cruz should call a truce.

Cruz was used in Iowa to block Trump’s momentum. They set up expectations he would win to make finishing 2nd a ‘huge loss and it’s over!’ b.s.

Rubio is the choice of the Libs because he will lose to Killary and so will Cruz.

Cruz and Rubio are very similar in a lot of ways, as far as their positions go (although naturally they have to distinguish themselves by focusing on the details). Rubio is definitely more likable - I’m not sure what it is about Cruz that is so off-putting, but everybody seems to feel it.

My concern is that neither of them has shown much ability to get things done in the Senate. This is partly, of course, because they were both there under the lame Mitch McConnell, who gave Obama and the Dems whatever they wanted. However, despite the differences in their respective styles, they couldn’t get much cooperation from the rest of the GOP Senators.

It’s possible that either one of them would be better in the executive office rather than in the legislature, but I do think their records in the Senate need examining.

I cant see people who vote for Trump and Cruz voting for an establishment guy. Rubio is the Republican version of Obama. Young, no experience but talks a good game. Been there, done that and thanks, but no thanks.

I love Cruz and Trump...they are my top two. I will vote for Rubio. He is light years ahead of Bernie or Hillary even if he has a couple of issues I don’t like. And in all honesty...he would probably nominate more conservative judges than Trump.

I’ve tried to warm up to Rubio, but for two things:
1. Amnesty - Gang of 8
2. He’s a huge Middle East hawk in the McCain mold; called repeatedly for intervention in Syria.

There is only one thing the Marxist globalist care about and that is destroying the American middle class and the American constitution. And Rubio is their guy. Rubio will sign Comprehensive Immigration reform (Cruz will too) and then the country is lost. Once the amnesty happen there will be nothing anyone can do stop the whole sale rape of the United States. We will turn into North Mexico with a ultra wealthy ruling class a small professional middle class that services the ruling class and a large peasant class. That is what you get if anyone other than Trump is elected.
