You wonder how smart, seemingly accomplished people can do such horrible things, but sometimes watch Double Indemnity with Fred MacMurray and Barbara Stanwyck. A successful, seemingly normal insurance salesman is lured into murdering his paramour’s husband and ends up going to the gas chamber.

Double Indemnity sounds like roughly the same plot as Body Heat.
