Now you reminded me of my first job as a lawyer. The firm gave the associates a firm credit card to encourage them to go eat dinner, and then come back and put in more hours afterwards at night.
So again, the classic was to work until around 6:30, then all the associates working on a big case would go to some restaurant together and eat and have some beers, then come back to the firm and put in maybe another half an hour before calling quits and going home for the night.
I don’t think the partners ever caught on, at least while I was there (left for another firm after a year). But back then lawyers were making so much money they didn’t care. Not the same now.
good gimmick :)
i had a boss at an investment bank who showed up maybe 3 evenings (i worked the evening shift in graphics0 for 4 hours.
so 12 hours a week. Didn’t get caught for FIVE YEARS, but he was leaving for Texas anyway by that point.
I got 30 bucks for dinner in the city but I had to ORDER it online. Still had some nice meals :)
