Some of my FB friends are old classmates who are now teachers.
It never ends.
In August, its the moaning about the new school year, and strangely how hard they have to work to ‘get ready’ for it...in fall when budgets are set, there’s the nearly automatic complaining about that...today it was some meme about having to buy their own supplies...throughout the year, its interspersed with admonitions about how important teachers are, and of course how under-appreciated they are...and in the spring its the ‘thank goodness its over, I need a break’ like they just did a couple of Bataan death marches.
Its hard to take.
Full disclosure - my dad is a teacher...but at a private school and he worked a summer/weekend job for decades.
Like Joe Soucheray of Garage Logic says (I’m paraphrasing). The closer you get to the tall buildings, the crazier it gets. And he’s right.
They should implement a holiday where they kids play with a stuffed Richard Dawkins!
