(MIRROR UK) â The Zika virus outbreak currently gripping the Americas could have been sparked by the release of genetically modified mosquitoes in 2012, critics say. The insects were engineered by biotechnology experts to combat the spread of dengue fever and other diseases and released into the general population of Brazil in 2012. But with the World Health Organisation(WHO) now meeting in Geneva to desperately discuss cures for the Zika virus, speculation has mounted as to the cause of this sudden outbreak. The Zika virus was first discovered in the 1950s but the recent outbreak has escalated alarmingly, causing birth defects and a range of health problems in South and central America...

Matthew 24: 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage , until the day that Noah entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Just what the world needs ; more pinheads than we have already .
The small head children will doubtless all grow up to be Democrats
Brazil is where the africanized killer bees were first released back in the 50’s - and now they are in the U.S.
I BLAME the banning of DDT for letting them in,
Instead of using DDT to eradicate mosquito's, they go and genetically modify mosquito's that mate with the native mosquito's. They created a monster.
I’ve read a couple of articles on this and none have identified just who these biotechnology experts are or where they hail from. Sneaking suspicion here that the US is up to its eyeballs in this.
Rachel Carson.......................
Genetically modifying plants and animals and then releasing them into nature is foolish and immoral. There is no way to know what consequences might result that are irreversible! They may be responsible for injuring or killing millions of people.
DDT is safe: just ask the professor who ate it for 40 years

“But Jesus does not indicate that people will be having children.”
Nor does he indicate they will be smoking cigarettes or riding in cars!!!
Oh wait!
“And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days!”
Matthew 24:19
(Don’t read too much of your own speculation into the Bible.)
I can only imagine the number of abortions this virus will trigger.
Good point! But the verse you quote specifically talks about those women with kids in Judea. Not the rest of the world...
I was also wondering why they don’t just do a tightly controlled spraying of DDT in the areas where the problem originates-as long as it is monitored, any harm that may be possible would be minimized-I’m not sure it is that harmful anyway...
When I was a kid and my dad was stationed on a base in a tropical area, in the evening all the kids used to wrap dish towels and stuff around our mouths and noses and run barefooted behind the truck spraying DDT, getting enveloped in the spray-we thought it would keep the mosquitos off us. I know plenty of other people-even out here in BFE-who were military brats and did the same-we are healthy and working-so if the s*** is so dangerous, shouldn’t we all be dead or disabled by now?
Aha! You’re yet another DDT exposed kid...
sick.....its not the babies fault....
The aim was to release only male Aedes mosquitoes into the wild and they would in turn produce offspring with their virus carrying female counterparts.
This offspring would then die off before breeding again due to the GM coding in their genes. î
