Civilian Pulls Over Cop for Allegedly Speeding: Video
NBC Miami ^ | Jan 31, 2016

The officer responded by apologizing.

A Florida woman turned the tables on a police officer, "pulling him over" for allegedly speeding Sunday afternoon.

Claudia Castillo recorded video of her interaction with the Miami-Dade police officer and said in the video, "He's been driving recklessly and pushing 80 to 100 miles per hour."

The officer said he was on his way to work and didn't believe he had been speeding. He said he pulled over because he thought Castillo, who was flashing her lights and honking her horn, was having an emergency.

"I saw you since Miller Drive when you were first jumping on to the Palmetto and you were pushing 90 miles an hour," Castillo said in her confrontation with the officer.

The officer responded by apologizing and telling Castillo, "I'll be sure to slow down then."

The Miami-Dade Police Department said in a statement authorities will have the officer's "immediate command staff investigate the matter, once the officer and citizen are identified. The appropriate course of action will be taken at that point."

Well, that’s how *I* got my last warning.

PoPo: “Know how I know how you were speeding?”
Me: “No. How?”
PoPo: “I was speeding too”

Yeah, I really do need that dash-cam ASAP

She's lucky he didn't pull his pistol and execute her on the spot.

Maybe not, but he could easily have arrested her for interfering with an officer - and the charges would have stuck no matter what her motives were.

I think Brian Ross did a story on this once...using a helicopter to clock police cars...and confronting them later with large, obvious cameras in tow, to avoid...ahem...problems.

One of the cops was a ‘driving instructor’, I remember.

If its a real emergency, they should use their lights. That’s what they’re for.

Thin blue line becomes thick blue WALL when it comes to anything outside the dept, especially the serfs (aka retirement piggy-banks)

Some of the craziest most dangerous driving I’ve ever seen is cops preparing to pull over grandma for 6 MPH over the limit.

“She’s lucky he didn’t pull his pistol and execute her on the spot.”

A little bit of hyperbole on your part - but in general, you are correct.

LEO’s do not like being questioned - not by anyone. They answer to no one really.

Florida LEO’s seem to have this “Shoot first - maybe we’ll ask questions later” mentality. This woman is lucky she wasn’t “perceived” by the LEO to have been a “threat” against him.

That was my thoughts as well. She did all that and did not make any recording of the so called offense. So this whole thing has no legal standing.

“It’s common here for police to turn on the blue flashing lights on their patrol cars to avoid having to stop at a red light or stop sign.”

Could be totally wrong - but I thought all modern squads had monitors on them to track speed, location, and when they turned on and off emergency signals..

Now, if these logs are looked at and enforced is another matter all together.
