I’m not excusing what Cruz did. It was staggeringly stupid; his only saving point in my view is that he’s still better than the rest in the race (not a compliment).
I’m trying to point out that it’s disturbing how much information IS available about voters. There shouldn’t be any more detail available than “these voters were assigned to this precinct, which had these voting results”; if they’re tracking _whether_ someone voted, and making that info available to the public, that’s bad.

Here is detailed information about what states must and cannot provide to the public regarding voters. There was a law passed nationally in 2002 which affects all states and requires this information to be made available.
