I agree with you about entitlement reform. When Obamacare was first being discussed by John Mackey, the CEO of Whole Foods, no conservative, had a very good plan which would have lowered costs through the use of health savings accounts and using direct pay which would introduce competition and lower costs.

It was a very viable plan that would have reduced costs, without government interference.

The Whole Foods Alternative to ObamaCare: Eight things we can do to improve health care without adding to the deficit.

http://www.wsj.com/articles/SB10001424052970204251404574342170072865070

this is something that Trump has mentioned, but not by Mackey’s name because if anyone says a Democrat has a good idea, you might as well shoot yourself, if you are a Republican.

“The Trumpcare meme is a flaming lie.”

Come on. Trump pushed single payer healthcare on 60 minutes. It’s actually more socialist than Obama’s plan:

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/09/28/trump-pushes-single-payer-healthcare-tax-increase-on-wealthy/

Donald Trump: Obamacare’s going to be repealed and replaced. Obamacare is a disaster if you look at what’s going on with premiums where they’re up 40, 50, 55 percent.

Scott Pelley: How do you fix it?

Donald Trump: There’s many different ways, by the way. Everybody’s got to be covered. This is an un-Republican thing for me to say because a lot of times they say, “No, no, the lower 25 percent that can’t afford private. But–”

Scott Pelley: Universal health care.

Donald Trump: I am going to take care of everybody. I don’t care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody’s going to be taken care of much better than they’re taken care of now.

Scott Pelley: The uninsured person is going to be taken care of. How? How?

Donald Trump: They’re going to be taken care of. I would make a deal with existing hospitals to take care of people. And, you know what, if this is probably–

Scott Pelley: Make a deal? Who pays for it?

Donald Trump: —the government’s gonna pay for it. But we’re going to save so much money on the other side. But for the most it’s going to be a private plan and people are going to be able to go out and negotiate great plans with lots of different competition with lots of competitors with great companies and they can have their doctors, they can have plans, they can have everything.

The facts are in evidence. Donald Trump stated, in his own words, that he wanted a single payer system paid for with taxpayer money. This is more socialist than ObamaCare.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/09/28/trump-pushes-single-payer-healthcare-tax-increase-on-wealthy/

You are entitled to your belief that socialized medicine is great, but you are not entitled to disclaim your candidates own words.

Cruzs' plan as I understand it is to let people die in the streets. Correct?

Actually that is the Obamacare/Hillarycare/Berniecare/Trumpcare plan. Rationing in which those most in need of care tend to die on waiting lists is a common feature in most forms of socialized medicine. Sarah Palin was against the death panels before she was for them.

Oh, wait, I forgot. Trump is smarter about health care than everybody else in history so he will figure it all out and the socialized medicine plan that he puts together will cover everybody for everything with minimal out of pocket expenses and no lines in waiting rooms and everybody will get to have whatever doctor they want and the government will pay for all of it so it won't cost anybody anything!

“Donald trump employs tens of thousands of people. I am pretty sure he knows a thing or two about buying health care.”

As opposed to Cruz who obviously doesn’t know how to buy healthcare. Or thought he didn’t know how. But somehow did it without knowing he did.

The "basket options strategy" used the dubious financial structure costing the treasury Billions, yes Billions.

Please spare "us" the IRS sob story. The Basket Options Strategy that Mercer uses is legal. Your accusation that he "bilked" the IRS is false. Mercer lawfully tries to pay as little tax as possible just like Trump lawfully tries to pay as little tax as possible. In fact Trump unapologetically boasts about fully exploiting the tax code. Trump says, "I pay as little as possible. I use every single thing in the book. And I have great people". And that's what Mercer is doing.

Please spare us from arguing the ethics of some of these people. The Wilkes brothers are trying to get the federal government to do a BLM land exchange with them, which they want very much.

Ohhh. A land switch. How evil. Give me a break. If they really wanted something of value from the BLM, they would be donating to Democrats, like Trump donates to Democrats.

They have their own interests at heart, not ours.

Sure. Only Trump spends his own money in politics for good. All other billionaires when they spend their money, they are only out for themselves.

LOL!

Mercer does have a relatively new venture; he started Cambridge Analytica. Keep the Promise 2, his Super Pac, the largest payee? Cambridge Analytica. Its the equivalent of Mercer taking money from one pocket and putting it in his other pocket. I believe, the govt. should be investigating this Super Pac for money laundering. Take a look at the other payees.

You were wrong with your first accusation about Mercer.

Why should I believe this?

Document your claim.

To be honest - I am sick of so called limited govt conservatives who have hypocritically worked for the govt their whole lives.

Very true. If I was against pickles, would I work in a pickle factory?

“So does that mean that all the groundskeepers at his golf courses and maids at his hotel casinos have health care? Also, does he even negotiate the plans for those people, or do they all work for one of his companies, which he just adds his name?”

Walking around with that kind of venom inside had got to be unhealthy.

Scott tried to put words in Trump’s mouth. It’s a lie. Give it up. How many times does this forum go over this pathetic lie. Kick up dust. Start a smoke screen. Anything... Anything to detract from the mailer. Good Grief!!

Out of context twisted crap that has already been discussed in this forum forever and ever. Nothing about single payer. You lie.

“To me a conservative who works in the public sector all his life is a hypocrite.”

Yes they are. That’s why the ‘conservatives ‘ in Congress aren’t. Real conservatives live in the real world, creating jobs and dealing with the messes the pretend conservatives make.

You can't have people saying they are limited govt conservatives and are against govt jobs and spending when they have been working for the govt all their lives. That is just insanity.

I want to return to the model of occasional senators - men and women who accomplished stuff in life, ran and held office a term or two and go back home to their business or retire.

Are you referring to this?

So Mercer donates 11 million dollars to Keep the Promise PAC and he receives 2K in business for his Cambridge Analytica?

LOL.

That’s the way it should be, no more career politicians. There’s a reason most politicians are lawyers - all they know how to do is talk. People making decisions that effect others should have real-world experience, not just talk about it.

The best professors I had were consultants, with their own engineering companies. They brought that experience into the classroom. Elitist professors and politicians have a lot in common, both thinking they are smarter than everyone else when they’ve accomplished so much less than everyone else.

I read it way back when it was done. So did everybody else. If it weren’t for the desperation Cruz lie/smear it would have just stayed in the history books.

Nope that’s not complete. I will pull the numbers. Best place to go is FEC. Look at independent expenditures.
