Speaking of the Oregon Militia uprising.
Of course many of us secretly nurse a little pride in the USA’s fighting spirit. It might be in the corner of our souls, but it’s there and can instantly flare up.
Many believe that our larger problem is reining in that fighting spirit. But that’s about to change, and I hope it is vented politically rather than violently here in the US.
But sometimes violence will flare up. Here’s an indicator ...

This could end as a modern Marius and Sulla. I hope not!

The timing of the Oregon militia uprising is unfortunate.
This primary reveals a definite shift in our government’s future. Militia uprisings should only be a last resort.
Big difference between Sweden and the US — this primary.
Europe has a tough row to hoe. We were blessed with more freedom of speech, the Tea Party, and brave conservative voices.

This is just ONE aspect. Gloves off.
[hat tip to sunkenciv — BTW, I sensed that about him all along. He’s no wimp. Morale would skyrocket in the military and intel communities.]
That may have been more true at the time of the ratification but now it's just wrong.
Pretty much every liberal democracy's constitution or charter contains both negative and positive rights. Even ours.
None of this changes my point that a right that can't be enforced isn't much of a right.
Apply a Nicolae Ceausescu solution to the politicians.
I've been casting Trump as Sulla for quite some time, or "the strong man" in the cartoon version of Hayek's Road to Serfdom.

They are, and this is how evil and corrupt the government has been to the ranching industry. Our creditors want them out. The environmental pretext is a fraud.
Like hell it is.

Your ignorance is tedious. What you call "liberal democracies" are parliamentary systems, their peoples are subjects, and they have only privileges, no true preexisting rights. In America, all rights are preexisting, all privileges are granted by the government.
None of this changes my point that a right that can't be enforced isn't much of a right.
That's not a "point," it's an irrelevancy that has nothing to do with the nature of rights versus privileges, unless you're actually claiming that the government will lawfully attack the rights of the people. In which case you're calling the government criminal.
In short, you just want to argue about a topic you don't understand at all. I have no interest in wasting my time with you any further. Goodbye.
most Americans will just shrug and quietly add to their mental checklists of places not to go.
quickly running out of places to avoid
eventually US will need to deal with problems of invaders and all around no goodniks- as was said upthread- when that time comes will not be pretty
The liberals are quite upset...
If liberals had a sense of humor the would laugh- but sadly when they are the butt of their policies the are not amused
