At the best for your case, Trump has embraced positions that can be made to seem contradictory.
Trump, when taken in context, gives assurances that make sense. What you seem to expect is a 10,000 word position paper in a 1 minute campaign speech.
It is an absurd expectation. It is the reason that most politicians feed us rediculous kubuki theater instead of plain talk. Words so carefully crafted, that they mean nothing, and we are expected to read between the lines as a sort of code about what they will actually do.
For example: George W. Bush and the Clinton Assault Weapon Ban, said that “He would sign it if it came to his desk.”
Second Amendment Supporters were expected to read that to mean that he would do everything he could, behind the scenes, to make sure that it did not come to his desk.
Now Trump, speaking plainly, clearly unscripted, unrehearsed, without a teleprompter, is expected never to utter a word that can be taken out of context to show an apparent contradiction.
The expectation is absurd.
This is one of the main reasons that Trump resonates with so many. He is not the ultimately scripted politician who has all of his speeches run through focus groups, then is careful never to stray from what the consultants tell him to say, because that can get you into trouble.
These sort of “Hate Trump” gotcha posts are what I expect from the GOPe and the Media cartel.

Do a google search “Trump single payer.” What you’ll find is that Trump has been on both sides of the issue and back and forth again. Who knows what he thinks or means?
