It works so well that whenever possible, Canadian doctors also have practices in the United States and their Canadian patients visit them there.

And it works if you find you need a heart bypass in October of any given year, and you then learn that your hospital closes the last three months of each year. So you book a flight to Orlando, to have Canadian certified cardios do a stent or intervention— and they get paid by Canadian health. What a wonderful set up. Well known in Central FL/Kissimmee area.

I know of at least six men in Canada who died of prostate cancer that would still be alive if they were in an HMO in the U.S.
