I do understand the phrase. But you don’t understand the context of the truth.
The truth is this:
Veterans know who benefitted them and who did not.
When you said “But it wasnât his money to give. So he left nothing on the table. Instead, he raised $5 million and gave of his own an additional $1 million.” you clearly demonstrated that you did not understand the phrase.
He could have had another $1.5 million, he could have had even more money to give to the vets. He left $1.5 million on the table. If he is elected President, I certainly hope he makes better deals than that.
