Yes, my ER visit ended up being some $75,000. Eight days later I was released t0 my own care.
I paid, the $4000 deductible and the monthly premium of $300... subsidized by about $200.
My ER needs were a fluke by all standards. I am a celibate woman of some 20 years. Divorced of a cheating husband in 1996...
To my fellow Americans who helped foot this expense I am ever indebted to you. And in many ways to the loose shift of obamacare...
Detail for many is required, but to suffice to say it took 20 years or so of fermentation to put me on ER doorsteps. Even then they didn’t grasp the scope of what was wrong with me...until they did the exploratory surgery.
IF...IF.. like thousands before me they had sent me home...I would not be posting this entry now.
That was 9 months ago. Not one FREEPER prayed for me...nor ever even inquired about me. I still have the last 20% of recovery to go...
3 weeks after major surgery my doctor told me walking was my best exercise....I told him, release me to drive...I am a professional dog walker. And God Bless him, he did. And I walked...and walked...and walked dogs. Some days 5 miles was needed, but slowly I accomplished that goal. Recently I regained one of my ‘lost’ clients as I wasn’t allowed to lift more that 25LBs, these past few weeks I’ve been able to lift Rocky...to take him past his electric fence...to have his morning walk.
I paid the penalty in 2014, I chose the ‘marketplace’ in 2015, I needed it in 2015...
I don’t know if I had asked if friends would have stepped up to cover the nearly $80,000 bill, but ....damn it all Obamacare and policy chosen did. Obviously I don’t make $$$, and I do believe we all must carry our own weight in our own ways. But...I paid all that I could and $4000 deductible....to by all realities... still be alive today.
I am grateful and in many ways I am sorry ...
Obama, his administration and the congress that passed this law so we could find out what’s in it, are all frauds!
