Technically, as maddening as it may be, the landlord is right on this one.

Private property rights are as sacred as the Bill of Rights.

So if I am a landlord, and my tenant flies the flag of Outer Muslimia, and I tell them to take it down, no trouble will befall me?

The man paid to rent the property. It’s his property within the terms of a lease. If the lease makes the claim that you can’t fly the flag, the owner has to stfu.
