“Has Trump Killed the GOP?”
There isn’t much left to kill since the GOP has done their utmost to damage themselves.
The problem with Trump is that he is doing and saying what the rest of us would, if we could.
We need someone bold and brash to undo the debacle that Liberal think Political Correctness has put us in these past 30 or so years.
Besides, what is so un Conservative about standing by what you say and not backing down. I totally get how he thinks; the Libs have no idea and that includes the GOP
The same question is fair games here you know!
What’s a GOP?
He’s redefined conservatism, which now means “statism that works for people.”
Notice, I didn’t say Democratic. They tell you the difference between a Democrat and a Socialist. Guess that makes them Socialists with Bernie Sanders.
I don’t think either major Party can be killed until the IRS quits giving both our money at tax-time, even if we don’t agree to give a donation. Too much money still and forever funneled to the fat leeches.
Trump is answering the American people's cry for help to be released from the clutches of gloBULLism and that it entails. Nobody listened except for Trump and it propelled him new height.
Again they just don't get it....
The real problem for those who want to kill the party is not the elected politicians -- the "RINO's". The real problem is all the people who call themselves Republicans who are not as conservative as others would like.
And guess what? When you destroy the party, those people are still going to be there, holding the same views. They're not just all going to suddenly disappear and be replaced by people who love Donald Trump, or Ted Cruz.
Except the difference is that you will have destroyed the vehicle for building a coalition with those folks, which will leave them with only two options. Either form a new party that reflects their "RINO" views, or join the Democrat Party.
I fail to see how that is a good thing for all the greatly outnumbered conservatives dancing around the pyre. Sure, we'll now have an ideologically pure party -- that only represents maybe 40% of the voting populace. At best.
Really? The true Republican Party died after Reagan
GOP is responsible for it’s own pathetic death spiral. Trump can put in the last coffin nail.
When the GOP dies it will be death by political anorexia.
Standing by what you say and not backing down has absolutely NOTHING to do with conservatism. It's what Obama has done so well. American conservatism is about circumscribed government and adherence to the Constitution.
Agreed. I hate public financing of campaigns. Although if you listen to all those folks who hate “money in politics”, you have to wonder how that’s going to be replaced.
They have brought this wrath upon themselves.
The GOP will have to adapt in a meaningful way if it is to survive.
It's not Trump; it's the base that is turning on them.
I just had the radio on and Michael Medved is being savaged by his listeners for his nonstop anti-Trump garbage. It was enjoyable.
And it was a self inflicted wound.
No.
If she gets indicted, they'll just sweep the body under the rug and rally around some other leftist. They won't splinter, they'll retain their voting coalitions, and in the general election, they'll clobber the splintered remains of what use to be their opposition.
Yippee.

I hope that he's killed the GOPe.
It depends on what you mean. Trump has strengthened the GOP, but he is close to killing off the conservative and Tea Party influence in the GOP. If, successful, Trump will bury any remaining Reagan influence that still exists.
