Official: Some Clinton emails 'too damaging' to release

EXCLUSIVE: The intelligence community has now deemed some of Hillary Clinton’s emails “too damaging" to national security to release under any circumstances, according to a U.S. government official close to the ongoing review. A second source, who was not authorized to speak on the record, backed up the finding.

The decision to withhold the documents in full, and not provide even a partial release with redactions, further undercuts claims by the State Department and the Clinton campaign that none of the intelligence in the emails was classified when it hit Clinton's personal server.

Fox News is told the emails include intelligence from "special access programs," or SAP, which is considered beyond “Top Secret.” A Jan. 14 letter, first reported by Fox News, from intelligence community Inspector General Charles McCullough III notified senior intelligence and foreign relations committee leaders that "several dozen emails containing classified information” were determined to be “at the CONFIDENTIAL, SECRET, AND TOP SECRET/SAP levels."

The State Department is trying to finish its review and public release of thousands of Clinton emails, as the Democratic presidential primary contests get underway in early February.

Under the Freedom of Information Act, or FOIA, there is an exemption that allows for highly sensitive, and in this case classified, material to be withheld in full -- which means nothing would be released in these cases, not even heavily redacted versions, which has been standard practice with the 1,340 such emails made public so far by the State Department.

That’s one hell of an excuse not to see these emails. Our enemies know what’s in them, but the American People will be kept in the dark. That way we have No idea what crimes this administration has committed.

I can only imagine the crimes Obama has committed against the nation and our national security.

There's going to be a whole lot of paper shredding as the end of his term draws closer.

But, but, but the Hildebeast said that none of the emails on the server were marked “Classified”!

She is just like Charlie Brown:

...

That’s the most important statement. Focus on that, not the fact that we can’t see them.

If they are that sensitive then fine, don’t release them.

But the DOJ had DAMNED WELL PROSECUTE HER FOR HAVING THEM ON A PERSONAL SERVER!

Can’t use executive priviledge. Make another end run. Meanwhile the Clintons run unabated while BO runs interference.

If they’re SAP then there shouldn’t be a record of any type. This has come up before. It seems like Those are what are known as “eyes only”. That she has any type of copy I’m pretty sure is a crime in itself. We don’t need to know what info they contain.

You guys are totally misreading this.

They're saying that some of the emails on her server are so highly classified that they can't be released, even in fully redacted form. These are items that, if released, will cause immediate and significant damage to national security. Think non-official cover lists, secret deals with both government and non-governmental actors, things we could only know if we have tapped Vladimir Putin's cellphone, etc.

This is a major blow to Hillary. It flies directly in the face of her claims about her server.

The FBI is basically putting her on notice. that charges are coming. They're also making it increasingly difficult for DOJ to not prosecute.

Did Clinton need a private server to act as a warehouse for sensitive email that she could later sell to interested parties worldwide?

If that is true, I think she can be executed by military firing squad.

Wouldn't that be a trip?

I concur with your view

I am reminded that for months and months, the Clinton staff did not have security clearances and I think some were never cleared

They just plain don’t give a damn about security
