One of the best references to the original understanding and intent of "natural born citizen" is the 1790 Naturalization Act passed by many of the same people who were involved in ratifying the Constitution three years earlier. "...the children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond Sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born Citizens..."

NOTE, Trumpsters - it says "SHALL be..."

and Trump and the media lackeys know this - so do most of you...but you will follow your Mutt (Svengali/Pied Piper/carney huckster) right over the cliff - taking what's left of our country with it.

Once you get into his reign, you'll wake up - like many of the obaministas did. But it will be too late - for YOU, for US and for our kids and grandkids.

Cruz mimics a lot of what TRUMP says. So its too late you say if we vote for Trump or Cruz ? Cruz should get his own thunder rather than try to mimic Trump.

I thought so to for the longest time. Then a couple of months ago I decided to dig in and discovered much to my amazement that military bases are not USA soil. Parents of a child born there must file a Consular Report of Birth Abroad.

Contrary to popular belief, military bases are not considered "U.S. soil" for citizenship purposes. Therefore, the only way children born abroad can acquire citizenship at birth is through their parents.

TRUMP IS AN AMERICAN STERIOTYPE TH(r)OUGH AND TH(r)OUGH

Fixed.

Take a second look and Trump is precisely the American everyone else complains about:
Arrogant, flashy, wealthy and happy to brag about it, thin skinned, dismissive, and full of vague promises masking fundamental ignorance.
Mr. Trump is well qualified to be a Frenchman's ideal American.

This has been debated endlessly here, and you are beating a dead horse.

Neither legally nor practically is Cruz in any way ineligible to be president. You can think whatever you want. You can vote however you want.

Cruz is eligible and is the most conservative candidate. I intend to vote for him in the Texas caucuses.

Your argument over the supposed consequences of the law regarding natural born is irrelevant. What is relevant is truth.

There are only two possible interpretations of natural born I have seen. One is that it means citizenship not conveyed by law. The problem with that is that all citizenship is conveyed by law. Two is that natural born citizen = native = citizen at birth. That is, if someone does not have to naturalize, they are natural born. The first naturalization act in 1790 strongly supports that the founders who ratified the Constitution 18 months earlier believed this. Rules of naturalization have changed over the years. The laws that apply to Cruz make him a citizen at birth. No judicial or legal decision is going to prevent him from being president.

I’ve read that Ivanka is due in a couple weeks. I hope she’s staying home and not traveling to help run Dad’s vast empire. She might deliver him a UN worth of possible nationalities. And Donald’s genes wouldn’t count. Or say Grandpa to be is claiming.

That might be the one state Cruz wins.

Cruz handled himself well and gained from being able to defend himself. Trump was only briefly referred to via jokes, which all agreed fit, the debate went better without him, and viewers concluded they’re better off without the butt of those jokes. Trump lost a chance to gain as Cruz did while raising doubts whether he could have defended himself as well as Cruz did.

So says the player that did not suit up for the game. Pot shots from afar give me a mental picture of a democrat hiding in plain sight. I do like what Trump says, but can I trust him on following through?
