Great question. It’s been said that LaVoy said he wouldn’t be arrested so we can question that. It’s odd to say that and then exit the vehicle with hands up.
He did stop (for a couple of minutes) at the first pull over. The roadblock was a mile up the road from the first pull-over spot. Watch the entire video to see how it went down.
Thank you for all the work in enlarging the individual frames.
If you would like more information about what's happening in Oregon, please FReepmail me.
I lost my Oregon list when my computer crashed last year, so please send me your name by FReepmail if you want to be on this list.
There's been more than one occasion where officers have been caught giving conflicting orders, and it wouldn't surprise me if it were the case.
The fact the first stories were saying he charged toward them has been proven untrue, so anything else they say is automatically suspect.
BTW - Thanks for analyzing this, Jeff. Your work is greatly appreciated.
have you analyzed the first stop to see if the vehicle was fired at while stopped?
I believe he had been seen wearing a pistol holstered on his right hip in days prior.
Yes.
Where were medical personnel?
Where were rubber bullets?
Why is Occupy treated differently?
No shots fired by Levoy?
How brave of the hit men.
Shooting a man in the back.
Bump
I agree. without the audio...a lot is left to question.
none of this really matters IF the shots happened AFTER his hand went down- IF however his hand went down AFTER he had been shot- then it was an act of self defense, by Finicum- if it was BEFORE he was shot, then it was suicide by cop- doesn’t matter where the gun was positioned- just the fact that the hand dropped is enough IF he was not shot at this point-
Jeff, thank you for this. Once again you bring clarity to a very tense and emotional situation. I appreciate your hard work (again and again you don’t let us down). Here in OR the news is heated and emotional and facts seem buried under mountains of opinion.
My very best to you and yours,
Reported by whom?
Do WE see it? No.
There is zero doubt that the death of this father and husband was absolutely unnecessary. That should be the focus as this goes forward.
We need the sound and all other recordings of this event to determine is the hands going down was intententional or a part of:
1. a taser
2. a shot from a weapon, whether striking him or not
3. being addressed or surprised from behind by that officer who might have done or said something or caused some sound or alarm.
It's hard to have a lot of sympathy for someone who is gunned down by a law enforcement officer while being apprehended ... after spending months or years making statements all over the internet that he'd never be taken alive.
They were lulled into complacency by their previous free comings and goings.
“This time we will be waiting for them.”
You are very welcome my friend. Thank you for those kind words...really, they are too kind.
God’s speed and blessings to you and yours.
You overstate the case.
However, the operation from start to finish was unnecessary. There was no reason those folks had to be confronted.
They were going to a meeting with a SHERIFF.
