Of course the Oscars should have quotas - heck, that’s not going anywhere near far enough: every movie they make, no matter what the topic, should have quotas as well, and not just for actors, but also for directors, producers, cameramen, best boys, key grips - the whole shooting match. From now on, 12% blacks, 51% females, 1% muslims, 2% homosexuals, 0.1% trannies, whatever % Asians, etc, etc, no matter what the subject matter, no matter what the historical context, no matter what the time period, no matter what the literary source.
Can’t have Hollyweird going half-way when it comes to fairness.
Give everyone a participation award.
They used to hand out separate “Best Art Direction” and “Best Cinematography” Oscars for black & white and color films. They discontinued the practice for black & white in the early 60’s once color became predominant. I suggest they bring back the separate categories and use them for “best black actor/actress”. That way the tokenism will be all the more apparent.
The Oscars need to break their bad habits. They’ve been favoring certain types of performances for ages, making them incredibly predictable, and usually wrong. If they could get over their addiction to “tragic” characters it would not only spread out better in the races, but you might actually see the best performances getting the award for a change.

They need to institute a rule than any year in which there are fewer than 10% African American actors among the Oscar nominees, the Oscars will be cancelled...starting this year. That will teach them.
Only 50% of the quarterbacks in the Super Bowl are black. BOYCOTT!!

Lets just put all all actors in grey scale that way only talent will be a deciding factor.
If they do not like grey scale- how about if you are white you wear black face and talk only in jive, if you are black you need to wear white face and speak the Kings English.
Or we can just do to CG and do away with actors/actresses all together- then there will be no need to protest- all will be unemployed

Affirmative action and diversity and all that will eventually ruin the Oscars just like it ruined the music industry and the Grammy’s back in the late 80’s and 90’s pretending like rap was any expression of musical talent.

If there aren’t enough Black nominees for Academy Awards then maybe there aren’t enough WHITE players in the NFL and NBA?
