google: Aero toxic syndrom.
are you referring to aero toxic syndrome?
My biggest disappointment is that complete absence of chemistry between the leads.
They seem like a couple of demoralized old people.
Oh wait... I can relate to that.
If the affected persons are scattered throughout the cabin, the next question is whether there is currently any volcanic activity in the vicinity (Iceland). While at 30,000 ft. you’d expect the gasses form volcanic activity to have dissipated and diluted, perhaps that is not the case and the incidents are related.
Truth! Is it our bad conscience manifesting in physical symptoms?
The most likely explanation is panic.
The stew fainted for whatever reason, and the rest panicked.
That’s very possible. I knew somebody who went to Iceland and - while, this sounds like a joke, it isn’t - almost died because of a sudden venting of volcanic gases during a pretty harmless walking trip.
“We’ve got to get these people to a hospital!”
It was a long haul flight, there would have been meals.
That could be part of it but the Daily Mail article reported crew complaining of a burning smell so some kind of fume leak seems likely.
What is it?
There’s a certain section inside of my local Walmart when I go to it that I often get dizzy and feel faint. Its happened several times now. Chinese airborne chemicals?
The flight attendants sit at the back of the plane so probably they would have been more exposed. Also, I think they have a hatch into the hold at certain points.
I think it may have been something from the hold - or possibly, as Smokin’ Joe suggested, volcanic gases from Iceland. Don’t laugh, they’re very toxic.
What is it?
It's a big building with patients...but that's not important right now.
On a vacation trip to Australia last year about 50 miles from landing in Adelaide i had a massive non stop sneezing episode, passengers were on the verge of laughing, the plane was descending down wind of where a massive deadly brushfire had occurred recently.
Jets pull in outside air, pressurizes it and adjusts for temperature as it can be -65f at altitude. I suspect i was having a reaction to particulates.
So.....its very possible it was volcanic in nature on the AA flight, maybe a better air filtration on aircraft?
Maybe interacting with something in the air filters. At low enough concentrations, those most sensitive would be affected, others not.
Years ago in a building where I worked, panic broke out when people smelled some noxious gas, 14 ambulance were called, people were laid out on the lawn gasping for breath and vomiting, all hell broke loose. Update: it only effected women, and it turned out the smell was from burnt popcorn.
How many times do we have to tell yinz, NEVER order the
FISH on an AIRPLANE!!!
They scent those things so strongly that it can make you feel ill.
FR must be cynic central.
Nobody is willing to believe there’s real problem.
