Editorial: Jeb Bush is best choice for Republican nomination
Tampa Bay Times ^ | 1/28/16 | Tampa Bay Times

It's time to stop treating the election of the next president of the United States like a game show without serious consequences. After more than a year of constant fundraising, meaningless opinion polls and reckless rhetoric from so many candidates, voters finally will make their voices heard starting Monday in the Iowa caucuses and eight days later in the New Hampshire primary. For Republicans fighting for both the soul of their party and the White House, the best choice is former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

The Florida primary is not until March 15, and voters in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina will weed out the field. To the voters in those other states and to Florida Republicans as well, we offer this advice: We know Bush's strengths and weaknesses, and we are confident he is the most thoughtful, principled and energetic candidate in the Republican field.

I cancelled the Times several weeks ago when I found out the moderate Tampa Tribune delivered in my neighborhood. The Times called me to ask me to come back and I began telling them why I would never subscribe to their liberal rag ever again. They hung up on me in mid sentence.

Yeb is an incredibly unlikely nominee. His problem isn't just Trump - he's also managed to alienate people who support candidates other than Trump and Cruz.

I held my nose twice and voted with the GOPee. McCain and Romney. Never again, so help me GOD!

I will proudly cast my ballet for a libertarian and let Hillary be elected.

The GOPee are so busy giving free humVees to all the lobbyist, they don’t care about our votes.

I will not feel guilty.

The American dream was not stolen, it was sold.

To hell with anyone who wants to berate me for this stance. If Jeb is the nominee, they have forsaken my vote, and I will choose not to give it to them

I'm with you. A choice between another Clinton or another Bush is no choice a all as far as I'm concerned. It's like getting to vote on whether the Corleone or Tattaglia crime family runs your city.

To hell with anyone who wants to berate me for this stance. If Jeb is the nominee, they have forsaken my vote, and I will choose not to give it to them. Same for Rubio. Flame away, if you wish.

I could not ever pull the lever for Jeb and remain in good conscience. I will not do it.

Im with you on that. If its Jeb might be better to just vote dem. Better to just get it over with than to endure the death of a thousand cuts with the republicans.

If the editorial said “Jeb Bush is the best choice for Partido Revolucionario Institucional nomination,” I would probably agree.

And if Bush is the nominee, there would be so many Repubs. writing in their candidate of choice, the election would go to the Dems.

Sorry there is not a dime’s bit of difference between Hillary, Sanders and Bush. Have no interest if casting a vote for Mr. Doofus.
