No, he declared all MIA’s to be dead and labeled their relatives “arm chair Rambos”. John McCain and John Kerry won the war anyway.....

Trump is sending the media a message, and they better listen because he is going to be president. He is the ONLY one willing to jab them right in the eye. He understands this media is the first line of defense of everything we need to be rid of.

http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2013/06/24/getting-to-maybe

JUNE 24, 2013

Fox News has notably changed its tone since the election. A Democratic policy staffer who worked on the issue in 2007 and has helped write the current bill said, “NumbersUSA and FAIR” - two groups that want to dramatically limit immigration - “managed to convince Fox News back then to be their twenty-four-hour news channel of the anti-immigrant point of view. Fox has now totally bought in to the idea that we just need to figure something out.” Rush Limbaugh, who fiercely opposes the bill, has come to sound resigned. “I don't know if there's any stopping this,” he said on January 28th, the day the Gang held the press conference announcing its framework for the legislation. “It's up to me and Fox News, and I don't think Fox News is that invested in this.”

McCain told me, “Rupert Murdoch is a strong supporter of immigration reform, and Roger Ailes is, too.” Murdoch is the chairman and C.E.O. of News Corp., which owns Fox, and Ailes is Fox News's president. McCain said that he, Graham, Rubio, and others also have talked privately to top hosts at Fox, including Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, and Neil Cavuto, who are now relatively sympathetic to the Gang's proposed bill. Hannity voiced support for a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, which he previously dismissed as “amnesty,” on the day after the 2012 election. “God bless Fox,” Graham said. “Last time, it was ‘amnesty’ every fifteen seconds.” He said that the change was important for his re«lection, because “eighty per cent of people in my primary get their news from Fox.” He added that the network has “allowed critics to come forward, but it's been so much better.”

Funny thing about McCain -- he claims to be a "maverick" who doesn't care what people say about him, but in fact he's got a much stronger desire to be liked than do most other pols.

I noticed that too. The only Maverick thing about him is how he goes after his own.

There are times I wish that North Vietnam trained their gunners better.

That is a despicable thing to say.

You say "there are times"...please tell me the others.

First off, destroying the 'press as we know it' is crucially important to our democracy. I'm all in favor of destroying the "press as we know it." In fact, I've dedicated my career to it. The "press as we know it" is the most corrupt institution allowed to operate legally in America.

Moreover, Trump isn't "choosing" the moderator any more than a trial attorney chooses the jury. Asking that a biased and unacceptable juror or moderator be removed is not "choosing."

John Nolte doesn't suffer fools... especially blowhard fools like McCain..

You will note that not once has any major media network cut loose their army of reporters to put together major documentaries on Trump's career. There's no discussion of his ties to the mob, there's no discussion of his paying Polish immigrants $5 an hour 12 hours a day seven days a week with no overtime to do demolition for Trump Tower. There's no mention that he hasn't given a dime to his foundation since he set it up.

Instead they give him gobs of air time to flap his jaws for free, control topics of discussion, and starve his opposition.
