All other issues aside. If a muslim activist and the rest of this hit parade is a known quantity then neither Trump nor Cruz should go.

There’s nothing in it for either of them. And it’s pointless to stick your head in a virtual meat grinder. This isn’t “debate” it’s pure ambush.

There doesn’t need to be questions from “activists.” The moderator should be wallpaper. Monotone, neutral and a nobody. Nothing more than an informative referee to note time. There to be ultimately respectful of all the candidates that are there to talk to the ones watching. That’s it.

"Garanteed if Ted gets the illegal question from the illegal and tries to say he's not amnesty, he'll get booed. FOX picked the audience too."

Have no doubt this debate is going to be a disappointment. The mods are all democrats . It's the usual gotcha BS.

Trump people are singing his praises, but how will he handle the general election if he's the nominee? It's going to be 100 times worse.

On the local news they keep showing pictures of Trump photoshopped as a baby crying in a playpen, over Megyn. SNL and late night comics will have a field day too.

That said, I would love to see a real debate- like the one Cruz proposed.

There has NEVER been a real debate in any election-that helps voters decide, by focusing on issues.

I now must ask Trumpsters why do you support a RINO?

How about you just STFU and watch everyone ignore your asinine rant?

You make an excellent point. How is Megyn Kelly going to make it all about her? (she does seem to be that kind of gal, MEOW) She could choose another victim, but if it's Cruz it could help Trump.

I'm sure not watching. Maybe the Wicked Witch of the West will melt!

It isn't his 'fight' I have a problem with, it is his 'conservatism'. He sold every driver in the country out in Iowa to snuggle up to the establishment there, for one small state, and he said he'd use the EPA to enforce the ethanol mandate.

Well, that gives us 10% fewer miles per gallon of polluted gasoline, ruins countless more small engines and fuel systems, and has the added bonus of keeping the single most destructive agency to American Industry (and environment) ever. Whatta deal! He can get it done, all right.

Yeah I want someone who will fight. I also want someone who will fight for the right thing. One caucus and I'm already not seeing that.

I'm not saying that trump is Reagan

Good. He isn't.

Where Reagan would have built a coalition, Trump builds a mob.

..but you just hate him...

I don't "hate" anyone. I am not fond of being told by someone frothing at the keyboard what I think or 'feel'. You don't have a clue, apparently, so lay off the mind reading act. You failed.

My concern is this nation and its future.

...so can't see the forest for the trees...

Do you understand that the trees are the short sighted end of this? Not the long view.

I'm looking at the forest. You are howling because Trump has insulted all the 'right' people, gigged the media, stepped on all the right toes. You seem to be taking particular pleasure out of all the things that are being trashed, without considering that you are backing someone who changes positions so he can 'win'.

But without a compass other than 'winning', the deal can go against Conservatives. There is more to being president than that. Reagan knew that, and demonstrated it.

IMHO, Low hanging fruit. If Trump runs away from that, then he really lacks courage.

Why don’t you moderate the democrat debate, Megyn??? That’s where you really belong. Tramp.

Anyone who has ever played tournament holdem poker knows if you are the chip leader and you get down to the last table, you let the ones with minimal chips duke it out and eliminate themselves. No need to play a hand and give your opponent ammunition to later sabotage you with. You play your hand when the win means something. You can’t lose what you don’t throw in the middle.

I can’t disagree with you there, but do any of you think this ambush won’t happen in the Presidential debates? Running away from what you don’t want to handle isn’t going to make America great.

This is the real reason for skipping the debate. And, if Cruz was smart, he would walk also. Now he can be Fox’s punching bag.

True that. Tough questions to tip toe around tonight. Would have loved to see Trump answer the illegal alien.

In poker, you don’t play every hand even if you are the chip leader. You pick the battles you can win that means something. Trump is already in the lead, why should he wager that lead where he could get ambushed? Trump plays to win and for keeps. Why risk wasting that on a bunch of nobodys who want to ambush him or try to make him look weak.

http://mediamatters.org/research/2015/08/04/bill-sammon-is-the-secret-weapon-shaping-the-fo/204734

Fox's Chris Stirewalt: Sammon Is “The Best” At “Crafting The Questions.” Asked by Fox host Howard Kurtz how he and the debate moderators would formulate questions to keep candidates off their talking points, Fox News digital politics editor Chris Stirewalt said they have a “secret weapon” in Sammon, “who is the best at not only team cohesion and keeping everybody on point about what the point is, but in crafting the questions.” From the August 2 edition of #MediaBuzz:

KURTZ: You've been to this rodeo before. How do you and Megyn Kelly and Bret Baier and Chris Wallace go about formulating your questions knowing the candidates are going to try to pivot to their talking points?

STIREWALT: Well, the first thing is we have a secret weapon and that is Bill Sammon, who is the best at not only team cohesion and keeping everybody on point about what the point is, but in crafting the questions.

KURTZ: Washington bureau chief.

STIREWALT: Absolutely, he's a managing editor and a great mind and a great journalist and so that is a big help. [Fox News, #MediaBuzz, 8/2/15]

Sammon Meeting With Moderators Regularly To Refine Questions. Sammon is meeting with the three moderators in regular “murder board” sessions where questions are refined. From a Washington Post profile of Fox's Chris Wallace, one of the moderators:

On a recent Thursday morning, Wallace walked the few steps from his small, memorabilia-filled office — a photo of him playing hoops with Michael Jordan, his late father's Rolodex — to the more spacious suite of his boss, Bill Sammon, the vice president of news, who had called together a small debate-prep meeting.

“It's insane interest,” Sammon said as Wallace took a seat. Sammon was fielding calls from campaigns that wanted him to walk them through the debate rules, while also trying to finalize the program. Sammon is against opening statements. Ten statements from 10 candidates would be a buzzkill, he argued. Wallace nodded.

“I talked with Bret. He's written 54 questions,” said Sammon.

“I've written 22,” said Wallace.

Twenty-two is about as many as each moderator will have time to ask. With 10 candidates — each vying for a knockout moment — the anchors will have to keep their questions precise and their eyes on the clock.

“We'll have murder board Monday,” Sammon said. “Another Wednesday and Friday. The week of the debate, every day; and two a day if we need to.”

Murder boards, in Fox parlance, are sessions where each moderator's questions are refined — pared if they are too long, scuttled if they are too “weedy.” Sammon, Wallace, Kelly and Baier will harshly criticize each other’s work. [The Washington Post, 8/3/15, emphasis added]

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/01/26/anti-trump-network-fox-news-money-flows-open-borders-group/

While Megyn Kelly made headlines with her heated questioning of Donald Trump, not one of the Fox News anchors asked Rubio in the first Fox News debate about his signature piece of legislation, which Murdoch's immigration lobbying firm had endorsed. Instead, they lobbed Rubio a series of softballs, such as asking Rubio if he could put God and veterans in the same sentence.

Interestingly, Bill Sammon - FOX News's vice president of News and Washington managing editor - is the father of Brooke Sammon, who is Rubio’s press secretary.

I’m told that Fox also invited an expert on citizenship issues to ambush Cruz and Rubio, an expert on amnesty to ambush Jeb, an expert on youthful crime to ambush Carson, an expert on traffic management to ambush Christie, and an expert on drug abuse to ambush Paul.

No, wait...
