Trump Vows a ‘Close,’ ‘Good Relationship’ With Pelosi and Schumer as President
The Blaze ^ | 01/26/2016 | Fred Lucas

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump used a Tuesday appearance on MSNBC to tout the fact that, as president, he would work with Democratic leaders in Congress to get things done.

He specifically talked about House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and asserted he was "close" to Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), who is expected to replace outgoing Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.)

"I've always had a good relationship with Nancy Pelosi. I've never had a problem. Reid will be gone," Trump said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" Tuesday. He continued:

"I always had a decent relationship with Reid, although lately, obviously, I haven't been dealing with him, so he'll actually use my name as the ultimate -- you know, as the ultimate of the billionaires in terms of, you know, people you don't want. I always had a great relationship with Harry Reid and frankly, if I weren't running for office I would be able to deal with her or Reid or anybody. But I think I'd be able to get along and work very well with Nancy Pelosi and just about everybody."

Donald, you can sweet talk Reid, Schumer and Pelosi all you want, they will never strike a deal that is good for America.

Never!

OUTSTANDING, just like Reagan who also had to contend with hostile Democrats. But Reagan prevailed, as will Trump, with Reagan getting most of his priorities - tax cuts, deregulation, and the military build up, to name a few.

I’d HATE to elect an ideologue that might be right on many issues, but is unwilling (or unable) to work with the opposition to get stuff through Congress

You are way too kind. This woman is a pathological liar and not a “Catholic” as she claims. This sl*t, as you write, has been in office way too long, has done more damage than can be calculated, and deserves to be banished to an old folks home on a coral reef in the middle of the Pacific. Pure evil would be more appropriate.

Well Lloyd Benson, I think Trump will do just fine. At least he isn’t pulling a Romney and writing off 48% of the electorate before he even starts.

They don't spin it so much as wallow around in it.

It appears to me that he’s confident he already has the nomination all but wrapped up, but he knows he needs to attract more votes from the independents and squishies to win the general, so he now wants to show them he’s not a hard right-wing ogre.

Trump’s “I’ll make good deals” sounds more and more like the usual RINO “I love to reach out to my friends across the aisle.”

If Trump is such a Lib , why is he not running in the Dim primary ? Why are the Dims in a panic over him ?

1) What makes you thing the Dem panic is real? Who are you hearing this from, the MSM?

2) If he ran in the Dem primary he wouldn't be able to suck in all the dull of wit conservatives, would he?

Interesting choice of describing Trump “Paleo Conservative.” Paleo (definition: ANCIENT)implies that Trump has always been conservative, but his various statements through the preceding years suggest otherwise.

the desire and ability to make money does not make an individual conservative.

THEY attacked HIM? I don’t think so. But even if the hit him on issues, that is no excuse for total nastiness. Beware of following king vengeance. He might now like what you have to say, one day.

One attack he admitted was due to polling and not a pre-attack.

The first “deal’ he makes will be on the wall and immigration. We won’t like what he gives away to his good friends Chuck and Nancy.

How ‘bout this? He owns them, bought and paid for. And they know he’s ruthless. Why is it the democrats and the republicans don’t want him to win? They’re afraid of him.

Spin, nothing.

Schumer is going to be the Senate Majority Leader. Pelosi will be the House Minority Leader. Trump will have a 45-state landslide mandate.

Of course he will have to get along with those two. Reagan got along well with both Tip O’Neill and Grand Kleagle Byrd.
