The truth is I knew the 2 sisters while they were growing up and they were not political at all.

And then they took Natalie in and when she forced her politics on them and us it marked the band and all of them forever.

I really do miss the sweet harmonies of the past, before they got politically edgy.

Well the sisters backed her up, so they kind of got what they deserved....

There is no doubt that Natalie’s vocals and other talents helped them take the step they needed to become what they became, but damn it was like watching a train wreck when all that went down.

First you could just chaulk it up to Maines being a spoiled brat and ass... but then the two sisters defended and confirmed they felt that way too, that was pretty much the end for them....

Then when they insulted the fan base that gave them their success and fame and tried to leave country behind, poof.

There was no doubt they were a talented group of folks, and certainly weren’t the first band to implode, but their implosion was just mind boggling to watch. Its like no one sat them down and said, look you are entertainers... you entertain... that’s it.
