“Always nice when the Republican front runner sides with the Democrats”

Actually it’s refreshing in a situation like this when they are right. Why would medicare NOT negotiate prices?

Why not reform the whole program? The main issue of Medicare isn’t the pricing, that’s a left wing propaganda tool.

It’s fraud, in every state at every level. Fix the fraud, you free the system to generate it’s own pricing.

Exactly. What many near the top of this thread have long forgotten, is that it was George W. Bush who expanded "free drugs for seniors" under Medicaid, which was the biggest expansion of Federal "benefits" since LBJ implemented the Great Society.

Medicare paying LIST PRICE for drugs for senior citizens is STUPID, period.

It's also a HUGE WASTE OF TAXPAYER DOLLARS, and a PAYOFF to the drug companies.

But let's not wasting our tax dollars paying LIST PRICE for drugs for our nation's senior citizens get in the way of a good Trump bashing.

Some people are so blinded by their hatred they've forgotten their conservative roots.

Medicare part D is a payer contracting service with hundreds of plans. Prices for covered Part D drugs are determined by negotiations between drug manufacturers and prescription drug plans.

Government doesn't really negotiate, they would dictate. The democrats would love to use this as an avenue to initiate price controls. And there are a lot of alleged conservatives who would cheer them on. If consistent, these same cheerleaders would demand that government negotiate worker wages lower so we get lower prices at the store. The government already tells doctors what they can charge for Medicare services and that's worked out so well that new Medicare patients can't find doctors. Same thing will happen when you want to find a new drug. Lower prices and little innovation. Great.
