The Supreme Court restored death sentences Wednesday for three Kansas murderers by an 8-1 vote, undercutting predictions by some that a majority of the justices is ready to strike down capital punishment nationwide.
Speaking in court, Justice Antonin Scalia described the "notorious Wichita Massacre" in which two brothers broke into a home, tortured five young men and women and then took them to a snowy field where they were "shot in the back of the head, execution-style."
Amazingly, one young woman survived when a hair clip deflected a bullet, and she later testified against Reginald and Jonathan Carr. A jury convicted the pair of the four murders and sentenced them to death.
The Kansas Supreme Court reversed both death sentences as well as another for Sidney Gleason, a paroled inmate who participated in the robbing and killing of an elderly man over $35 and a box of cigarettes. Gleason then murdered two others who knew about that killing.

The queso stands alone
but I am a notoriously cheap SOB.
I agree. I did see one special or something on it like 15 or 20 years ago (don’t remember the dates on this thing, though).
Liberals keep saying we need to do more to take care of the poor, the homeless, the hungry.
The money, food and energy put into those beyond redemption is not available to those who may yet do good.
And raped, in more than one way.
Some people are so inhuman no words can describe them.
Executing them doesn’t even begin to inflict justice on them because death is too good for them.
Which pales in comparison to the monstrosity of their wickedness.
That said, we need to be protected from the likes of them and capital punishment is needed to keep the rest of us safe.
Media in Kansas covered it extensively, but Truman Capote never made an appearance, perhaps his death had something to do with that. Unfortunately, the gallows in Lansing are gone.
All the women in the liberal media who suppressed or helped to suppress this Wichita case, deserve the same horrible things to happen to themselves - that happened to the women in in that house before they were murdered.
I agree with the Supreme Court stepping in. The KS Supreme Court acted improperly fruity.
Part of the torture.
Just ship it from state to state? Not a bad idea...just don’t use the post office, you know they would “lose” it.
Best news all day.
The leftist media has done a great job hiding this story.
From the looks of the picture in #17, the one on the right has already seen a picture of Moochies face
Nope! I’d use UPS! Much more reliable.
I consider Wichita to be the Kansas city of evil. My husband has two elderly cousins that we visit once a year or so but other than that I will not go to that town.
My post #28!
You and Sotomayor sound like Obama here. Make no argument whatsoever, just insist that you, and you alone are right somehow.
