Trump is campaigning with personal attacks and flip-flopping positions (no birther problem turns into a problem because of polls). Trump is the attacker. Levin is making that point. Trying to call Levin an attacker for saying Trump is an attacker is just ridiculous PeeWee “I know you are but what am I” nonsense. Levin’s point about Trump’s campaign style is valid. Trump is not using his media time presenting conservative principles and educating the public on Constitutional ideals. Trump is using his media time throwing verbal spit wads.

The fact that Mr. Hatchet Man worked for Nixon and Reagan is irrelevant to the point. Nixon targeted his enemies as a means to gain power. Reagan communicated conservative principles to the public, past the liberal media, and persuaded the public to embrace his conservatism.

What Trump is doing IMHO is trying to win. Many of our friends have forgotten what this means. Rush calls this conditioning, I call it stockholm syndrome.

Running in 2016 versus 1980 is a little different, no? The population is +100 million and WWII and Korea era are vanishing fast. Their replacements are many imported people who barely recognize English or the Constitution.

So you have this different demographic. Shall our guy party like its 1980, running up the "conservative" flag? ( BTW, I remember those elections well, don't oversell the (C) aspect, especially in 1980 when external events dictated the outcome ).

Levin, right this second is lecturing on (C)onservative principles or else, reading the Declaration, but I ask you this ... does it even matter to you or him whether the voters in the battleground states are receptive to this? Are they clamoring for lectures? Evangelicals? Constitutionalists?

P.S. in no way am I stipulating that Trump is some kind of liberal as you might be trying to suggest. He *might* be less Conservative than Cruz or Huck or Santorum. He might not be.
