Wherever Bush is ranked, Clinton deserves equal billing.
Both ignored 9/11 warning signs.
Both gave us a growth economy, but left us with a Recession (Clinton’s officially started about 6 weeks after he vandalized the White House and left town). Bush’s recession was made worse by Obama’s failures; Bush helped get us out of Clinton’s, with tax cuts.
Both helped lead us to the housing bust.
Main differences are atrocious, but apples-oranges:
Clinton: impeachment
Bush: Iraq
I am not suggesting Obama isn’t the worst, but if Bush had leveled Afghanistan and stopped hard on Saddam there would have been no Iraq invasion, no Libya, no Benghazi, no Egypt, and no mess in Syria.
BJ is our Harding; Gore would never have been Coolidge, but he didn't get the chance. W is our Hoover. BHO thinks he is FDR; he is everything that was wrong with FDR, with nothing that was right, and that is another reason Obama deserves the prize.
I should have added that HRC thinks she is Eleanor.
W is like Nixon. A guy that liberals hated while in office, but years later will praise for all of the liberal stuff they did.

So with his total lack or success, it's easy to see why he's not out on the campaign trail with Jebbito. With Jebbito down to 1% after spending more than $60 million on adverts, the thinking probably is that W coming on the scene at this juncture would have Little Jebbie approaching zero % as an asymptote!

History is not defined by current reflection of academicians but by the passage of time. I have said it before, George W Bush will be treated very kindly by history much like Harry Truman.

I'm inclined to agree. But it took many years for Calvin Coolidge and Hebert...uh, Hoobert Heever...uh, that guy...to be "rehabilitated" in the eyes of popular history. Taft may be along. Nothing that happened in his administration was any sleazier than what has happened in the current one and his offending Secretary went to prison.

We have a lot of undercover liberals here at FR. They say just enough to keep their identity secret but they love to stir the pot. I've noticed a lot more suspects lately.
In chaos theory, the butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a larger state. In other words, a butterfly flapping its wings in Texas can cause later a typhoon in the Japanese Sea.
Think about it, in mid-20th Century America an 18 year old pot smoking hippie freshman slut in a Honolulu college has sex with an older Kenyan politician on a student visa, who has a wife and child back in Africa, and from this “roll in the hay” comes the collapse and dissolution of America in the 21st Century.
Interesting isn’t it, and it makes you a firm believer in the “butterfly effect.”
Kinda depressing to think I’ve lived in 4 of the 5 worst presidencies in the modern era.
It depends on whether you are willing to consider Obama on that list. As far as I’m concerned, the usurper doesn’t get a rank in the “president” category, although he is the worst occupant of our White House in history.
I think you’re right.
I don’t suppose they can run Obama’s numbers for this “verdict” because he’s still in office. When he is gone they will change the way the numbers are put together, no doubt, and find a way to make it GeeDubya or some other Republican.
