Ted surrounds himself and begs donations from some VERY peculiar people. He also was BEST FRIENDS with Roberts and brought him into the W team/administratio

I can’t find it back, but a few days ago, someone posted a letter from Cruz about how Roberts would be a good pick for SC. But I remember during one of the first debates, He and Bush having a back and forth where Cruz blamed GWB for Roberts, Jeb said that Cruz had endorsed Roberts. Cruz then went on to say he had wanted his old boss Luttig not Roberts.

Soemething doesn’t smell right here.

During the old HANGING CHADS fight and then the ensuing SCOTUS battle, Ted brought in his old pal, Roberts, saying that "he is a GREAT CONSTITUTIONAL LAWYER, BRILLIANT....." etc.; using the same words he and others now use to describe himself.

Yes, he DID write a GLOWING letter in support of Roberts for the SCOTUS.

I too saw that he NOW disavowed the whole Roberts thing and threw him under the bus.

It's the same ruse he has used re his TPA vote, the mess-up with the FEC filing, lying to the people of Texas about financing his own senatorial campaign with ALL his own money.; implying that he no longer had any savings or assets of ANY kind!

Just recently, LYING to the people at a N.H. stop, that he and Heidi did NOT now have ANY health insurance at all, but he actually DOES.

There's a lot more of this, in the same vein and it sticks in my craw.

Cruz did support Roberts AFTER Bush nominated him. Cruz wanted Luttig, whom Cruz had worked for.

Not exactly. Roberts worked in the Reagan and Bush 41 administrations, and was nominated for a judgeship by Bush 41 in 1992. So he was already well known to the Bush team long before Cruz showed up. Cruz DID bring Roberts in on the Florida recount case - but considering that Roberts had argued 39 cases before the Supreme Court, winning 25 of them, can you think of another lawyer that would have been a better choice?
