Elizabeth Warren Sinks Clinton's Hopes for Endorsement
Huffington Post ^ | 1/25/16 | Liam Miller

Posted on 01/25/2016 9:37:42 AM PST by TangledUpInBlue

In a speech before the Senate Thursday, on the sixth anniversary of the Supreme Court's Citizens United decision, Elizabeth Warren made clear - for those with ears to hear - that she will not endorse Hillary Clinton.

If you have observed how closely Warren's and Bernie Sanders' messages line up, it is hard to imagine that she would endorse Clinton over him, anyway. Even so, the question has remained. But now, were there any question about whether or not Clinton is truly a Progressive, Elizabeth Warren - with her extraordinary, precise eye for the heart of an issue, and her unsurpassed clarity of expression - has answered it.

The first ten minutes of Warren's speech address corruption in campaign finance, and the impact of Citizens United. She lists seven steps we could take right now, including six actions - bills before Congress, executive action, and powers already within the purview of the FEC and the SEC; and the seventh, a Constitutional Amendment to restore federal and state authority to regulate campaign contributions.

Every day brings another negative Hillary article from people that were supposed to just line up and vote for her. Now this.

Bernie is not electable. He can't win a General Election. Hillary CAN win. I think any race would be tight, but Hillary at least has some electoral math to her advantage. I can't believe the Dems would nominate Bernie. But clearly, there are plenty of people in that party that can't stand Clinton.

My nephew is the personal Aide to Susan Sarandon. They're flying to Iowa this week so she can stump for Bernie. A clear liberal, she supported Obama both times, but cannot stand Clinton.

That’s why I still think Biden gets in and Hillary will quit due to “health issues.”

The MSM talk about much Ted Cruz is disliked.

I would say more people dislike Hillary than Cruz.

If we had good government her health issues would actually be an indictment.

re: Biden getting the nod

He could fall apart on the campaign trail. Running for Pres is harder than VP, he's older, and he seems really sincere about family tragedy being an emotional setback.

Agreed. When Hillary is forced out Biden will come to the rescue with Warren as his running mate. This could be a formidable ticket for the Dems. She keeps the Bernie socialist crowd and the “first ever woman” voters. Biden becomes the reluctant candidate coming in to save the republic from the republican crazies ie Trump or Cruz.

The MSM dislikes what Cruz stands for, and so Alinsky-style they personalize the dislike. They agree with everything Hillary! stands for, so they can't admit that they dislike her as a person.

Good post, you may well be right.
But somehow the Clintons have to be derailed.
I don’t think she’ll go down easy

Hillary already has won the nomination as she has the super delegates, whom she had in 2008 but they switched to Obama. These are people like Caroline Kennedy and Sen. Clare from MO. Democrats think that they are nominating their candidates in primaries ibyvoting in a democratic fashion but they are really nominated by the super delegate, backroom process—no more chances of a McGovern.

Imagine the grin on Obama’s face when the half billion $$ check (POTUS pardon) from the Clinton Global Initiative to the Baraq Obama Foundation clears.

The Democrats are in big trouble. Hillary just plain sucks as a candidate. Always has. Some things you cannot change. Hillary will win the nomination because she can win the South. Bernie doesn’t really have a chance after Iowa and N.H.
