A new video of a teenaged Ted Cruz, posted Saturday on YouTube, shows a lankier and younger version of the future Republican presidential candidate sarcastically talking about his life’s goals - and they're far more ambitious than the mere presidency. "Take over the world, world domination, you know, rule everything. Rich, powerful, that sort of stuff," Cruz says

The new clip was posted on YouTube under the name "Young Ted Cruz." The operator of the account told POLITICO the video had been provided by a high school classmate of Cruz's who wished to remain anonymous. The video comes less than 10 days before the Iowa caucuses, where polls show Cruz at or near the lead.

Now one of the reasons I like Ted Cruz so much, is that he is not controversial.

But the truth is, he shouldnt be controversial because what hes doing is right. He took a stand, he took a stand recently that if he had just a little bit of backing, and Ted and I have spoken about this from other of your Republicans, I mean they hit him harder than they hit the Democrats.

If they hit the Democrats that hard, it would be a lot easier, in life. But he took a stand, and it was a brave stand, and had he really had a little backing, he had some, but had he had more, you would have negotiated one hell of a deal.

It might not have ended Obamacare, but you would have really gotten a big chunk out of it.

And, I just watched him, and I watched his motions. And you are going to see it here in a second tonight, I watched what he was saying and I listened very carefully, because I have heard him speak on numerous occasions, and you have to agree, and I do not understand the controversy, it is common sense.

It is good government. It is so many good things. But he really is a special guy, he went to Harvard. Great student. He went out and became a great lawyer. I wish I knew him then. I would have used him. I could use good lawyers. I always want good lawyers.

He ran for the Senate. He won. He is now a very very popular and important figure in all of our lives, and in this countrys life.

So, with that I would like to introduce a very special guy, Senator Ted Cruz.
