I won't be going anytime soon. My first visits to NYC were in the mid-1970s. It was dirty and dangerous. After Guiliani cleaned it up, I took my kids there three times. The difference was night and day. The city was clean and I felt safe. Last year, the city was dirtier and there were groups/gangs of young thugs on the subway who didn't do anything overt, but would bump into people, etc.
I totally agree. I first went there in 1984-1987, then lived there 96-99. The difference was incredible. The only reason I safe to do anything in Manhattan back then was the kind of motorcycle I was riding.
Ditto. My experience was the same over the years. Night and day.
