I use a Tracfone and they announced some taxes will be rolled up into the various minute plans you can buy. So you can’t get away from the added taxes.

We use Tracfone as well, and just buy 60 minutes every 90 days. Online (or buying through the phone itself) it is $19.99 and with surcharges it comes out to $22.83. However, if you go to a store and just buy the 60 minute gift card for $19.99, then there are no surcharges.
