As we enter 2017....with a President Trump...I don’t see him waiting around on the Republican House or Senate to work with him. It’s going to be executive-order and some Republicans standing there and trying to explain why they can’t work with the President. I see 2018 election period as a turn-over point with several Republican senators (Wicker and Corker) meeting opposition, and being voted out.
Even McCain probably will be voted out here in 2016. Same for Alaska’s Murkowski.
If only you were right about our long overdue to be retired Senator McCain. Two words: Term Limits!
SEC (Super) Tuesday - March 1
Florida, Ohio and others - March 15.
Now consider it could all be over if it goes as it is, the filing deadline for Federal Representative and Senate primaries in Florida - June 28.
That Primary is not until Aug. 30.
Marco could quit the Prez campaign and then file to run again for Senate.
How many other states have a similar situation?
Trump could, and I have already heard hints, of pivoting with the nomination sewn up and supporting those who choose to run against the establishment. He could be continuing his tour of almost daily campaign rallies while also giving note and exposure to those who are choosing to oust the establishment GOPe sitting Reps.
“...I don’t see him waiting around on the Republican House or Senate to work with him.”
I’m betting that Trump will have most of them lined up on his side before he’s even inaugurated.
