North Korea says detains U.S. student for 'hostile act'
North Korea said on Friday it had detained a U.S. university student for committing a "hostile act" against the country who, if confirmed, would be the third western citizen known to be held currently in the isolated state.
The North's state-run KCNA news agency said the person entered North Korea as a tourist and was "was caught committing a hostile act against the state," which it said was "tolerated and manipulated by the U.S. government".
The Korean-language KCNA report said the detainee was a Virginia university student and had entered the country with an "aim to destroy the country's unity". It did not elaborate.
An official at the U.S. embassy in the South Korean capital Seoul said it was aware of the reported arrest.

And... a price tag on every ex- pat and tourist in the world. Then Obama can ride in as a diplomatic super- hero and say “see diplomacy works”.. as long as it has a couple billion dollars of your money behind it. Seems planned to me, to boost the image of diplomacy by... creating a crisis and running in to “fix it”.
I’m sure that the idiot was a Peacenik and was there to try to get the people there to love each other and make peace with the world. On top of that he probably tried to make the people there aware of global warming caused by Korean pollution of the air and to enlighten them on gay rights.
I can’t imagine what went wrong!

Yep, it's called Cash Diplomacy.

How much does a student go for on 0bummers NK Hostage pay scale?

“Ok, cool, that should be enlightening and enriching, whatever goes, man!”
I agree; at this point I have 0 sympathy for anyone who leaves the protection of the US legal system. After 9/11, there was a real attempt to re-make the US Virgin Islands as a tourist destination for just this reason; I don’t know if it succeeded.
‘zackly.
——Zero sympathy for anyone who chooses to enter N. Korea.——
Exactly. Why would the U.S. Govt allow someone to travel there in the first place. For sure a propaganda opportunity erupts. If the US was smart, they would release the Gitmo detainees into North Korea with a hand gun.
They want their Iran ransom too!
mo money mo money!
Yes...probably working for Kerry et al
There are some people Rush Limbaugh would described head full of mush
