Know Who Else Has Received Loans from Citibank and Goldman Sachs? Donald Trump.
RedState ^ | January 21st, 2016 | Leon H. Wolf

Citibank, in particular, played a major role in one of the Trump’s organization’s more notorious bankruptcies, when the Trump Plaza Hotel in Atlantic City was underwater and Trump owed over $550 million on it to various creditors, with Citibank at the head. In order to restructure his debt, Trump gave Citibank and other creditors a 49% ownership interest in the hotel.

As for Goldman Sachs, Trump is himself a shareholder in Goldman Sachs, which means he has a direct financial interest in its success. One would think that would make Trump even less enthusiastic about protecting me from Goldman Sachs (whatever that means) than Cruz would.

Cruz needs to apologize for not disclosing his loans. I’m sure if he does this, he will lose Iowa by a very small margin.

I knew before that politicians were bought and paid for by big money interests. What I just learned this year is the extent to which the conservative media is also bought and paid for by the big money interests.

If it happened after last August, it doesn’t count, silly.

Cruz borrowed against his own investments and actually paid it back instead of declaring bankruptcy - big difference

Cruz pays his debts. Trump entities, not so much.

Redstate does not seem to believe it worthwhile to have competent legal research done before pronouncing legal opinions.

There’s a difference between taking a business loan for a hotel from a large bank and taking a large campaign contribution because your wife works there.

Margin loan. Look it up. Not difficult to understand.

Um, silly. I have investments in Goldman Sachs cause I have a pension fund. Idiot writer likely has investments in Goldman Sachs. Pretty different having GS as a corporate banker in a business deal than it is having wifey work there as a bigwig exec.

Nice try though. Isn't working, but that won't stop the GOPe from their slime.

What if you filled out your tax forms and “forgot” to include your w2 form? I guess that’s illegal. Ted did everything he was supposed to do. His loans were for all to see. Someone found a technicality and thenproduced a false public smear where nothing was found.
Stop repeating lies.

Find another large real estate developer that hasn’t borrowed money from GS.

And there's nothing wrong with borrowing from GS. But Trump is out there saying that GS "owns" Cruz, because Cruz borrowed from them.

I think you meant to say Trump OWNS Citibank. When you owe the bank $1 you have a problem. When you owe the bank $100m, the bank has a problem.

“large campaign contribution”

I thought he got a loan, basically a loan of his OWN money on his account. A loan that pretty much anyone with an account can get.

Now, what was the special deal Cruz got that was unsavory or illegal?

Exactly right. Cruz has never owned a business or created a job or paid a salary. Big difference.

FAIL AGAIN.
