I hear a lot of people talking Conservatism and the Constitution. Here’s hoping Cruz will fulfil your expectations. That’s the problem with people who idolize. Flesh and blood will always disappoint. The good thing about it is that those who excite people to hero worship will always have to answer when they fail. That goes for Trump and Cruz
It’s the real beauty of our system.
I won’t die if Trump doesn’t win. But I’ll wager a lot of screen names on FR will if Cruz doesn’t. :)
Idolize?
I don’t think Cruz is perfect. I’ve never said that or even implied it. Nor do I worship him - in any way. I do respect him, he’s earned it.
Idolizing is blindly following someone over the cliff.
Cruz has a history. A consistent history. A public record he has to defend. My biggest complaint about Cruz in the past was immigration. It seems to me Cruz has likely learned his lesson there.
Trump’s record is off limits because it is all over the map. In 2012 Trump was complaining that Romney was being “mean spirited” against illegals for wanting to remove them. Fact. But so many here demand Trump has changed and will do all these great things - based on nothing but words - but only his latest words...
Who exactly is idolizing their candidate based on what they want to hear?
By the way, I’ve been FR for more than 18 years. I’ve seen a lot here.
I assume you know that some of the 2nd amendment rights you enjoy right now are because of Cruz’s actions in District of Columbia v. Heller.
That’s an actual record of defending the constitution.
Trump last year said that spying on Americans was necessary because of the times we live in. So much for the 4th amendment...
When Trump ran as the Reform party candidate he ran on banning “assault” weapons, whatever they are. So much for the 2nd amendment.
Yet you say I’m the one that doesn’t get it...
Still a risky move by him...as seen now by the way he’s getting pummeled.

“a constitutional scholar”
Sooooo tired of that moniker. Obama was described the same way.
Constitutional scholar, Harvard Law, first term Senator. Differences are Black and White (or Hispanic)
I never was a Palin fan.
+1 for you.
