Donald Trump a Typical New York City Liberal Then and Now
Conservative Review ^ | January 18, 2016 | Steve Deace

Posted on 01/19/2016 9:59:05 PM PST by Berean

The conservative apologists for Donald Trump, and sadly there are some, protest that using his 1999 interview with the late Tim Russert, in which Trump vividly and unabashedly lays out his New York City liberalism, isn’t fair game given the time elapsed since then.

Fair enough. Being that it was sixteen years ago...

Trump isn’t the perfect candidate, he’s an imperfect man, but we can’t lose this to the hag or the new york socialist.

Trumps poll numbers vs. Hillary are lower than Cruz’, so what’s your next excuse?

No, he is not. None of them are.

And I am not sure that any one of them can right our direction. We have some serious, serious problems at this point.

I view Trump as a respectable, honest and honorable man who loves his country.

He loves his family, so he must love the country they are growing up in. I certainly don’t believe he wants to make it worse for them and their children.

I believe him when he says he wants to turn his talents to returning our country to prominence, and I want to let him.

I certainly think Trump has the best shot at winning, his appeal is by far the widest.

And I do NOT want to love under a Hillary Clinton presidency.

If this country elects her, I might just pack me a sandwich in a red scarf, tie it to a stick and take myself and my dog to some other place, because her election will signal to me that this has become some other place that I want no part of.

You Cruzbots are pathetic. 1999 was a very long time ago, but, yet, you can’t let it go - even when Trump says he wants to do away with Obamacare. I guess most of you are too stupid to realize that Trump has to pay these healthcare costs for his employees due to th sheer high volume of people he employs. But, no, you have no concept of business or politics, so, you grasp at something from 16 years ago. He has explained this already, but, because blockheads are blockheads - they can’t comprehend it. Now, let’s talk about a “brilliant” lawyer who is supposed to have a photographic memory and yet, can’t seem to remember to include 2 loands on his FEC filings. Oops! Guess he forget - even though ti was only about 3 years ago. Or, let’s talk about how a certain senator joins whacko beck to pass out teddy bears and soccer balls to illegal invaders. Oh no - we can’t do that - we have to go back 16 years and dig up tgrash on Trump. As I said - you people are pathetic cretures.

Trump is running on a platform that is identical to that of Republican Pat Buchanan in 1996, which straddles both parties. Read

I support Cruz, but all of these comparisons of Trump becoming an American dictator and tyrant reek of desperation from our side.

I once met the late Howard Phillips, the founder of the Constitution Party. A brilliant and caring man way removed from the masses of the American people, who are clueless and self-centered.

What Donald Trump has done is shake up the political infrastructure. While this is not a good thing in the short term for Republicans, it is a very good thing for “pure” Conservatives.

Our country has turned into sound bites and one issue wonders. The last “pure Democrat” was Zel Miller and it looks like the last “pure Conservatives” are people like Cruz and Lee. Which means today’s Republicans, like the Democrats have done for ages are using “single issues” as their platform.

This what Trump is doing with immigration. Not saying this is a bad thing, but what I am saying is this should be the final straw that splits the party and Conservatives forming a new political party.

I pay attention to what Trump says now, and I like it. 8 years of Obama has changed a lot of things. Many have tuned in and focused on politics and decided the democrat party is a joke, and they made America the punch line.

Donald understands America First!
