The war has not yet started. Cruz has made missteps but while he was supposedly making those “missteps” he was slowly but surely rising in the polls. Trump went on a blitzkrieg with the Birther Crap in an attempt to knock Cruz off his stride and then pulling a Palin out of his hat.

But Trump’s cynical attacks on Cruz are, IMO, going to backfire. Trump is a vindictive narcissist and anyone who looks at him objectively can see that. He uses “i” in the same dictatorial manner that Obsma does and his positions on issue change with the wind.

He has peaked. He has rolled his tanks into Russia and there is a long winter ahead. I don’t know if Trump is going to be the nominee, but I certainly am not going to support him and I was ready to until the scales fell from my eyes and i saw in Donald Trump everything I despise in guys like McConnell and McCain.

Now the day Trump walks onto the stage with Sarah Palij in tow, he bashes Ted Cruz for standing up against the RINOs and being disrespectful by telling the truth.

Anybody who can’t see that Donald Trump has no core values after that is willfully blind.

Ted Cruz has slowly risen in the polls while holding his ammunition. Donald Trump has used all his ammunition and now has begun his March into the Russian winter.

At this point I am praying that Trump continues to reveal himself as the cynical narcissist that he is. I pray people open their eyes. He is not now nor has he ever been who he claims he is now. People will see that. I did. I saw it this past week.

If Cruz gets no traction then I’m going to go for Rubio or someone else down the line. People are looking for a Political Savior and Trump is not it. I want a president who fears God, not one who thinks or acts like he is God.

Hillary is nose-diving in the polls. A socialist is looking more and more like the democratic nominee. That plunge by Clinton began with Trump’s attacks on her claims to be a representative of females, when she was in reality an enabler of predation and rape.

NO ONE ELSE had the guts to say that. It’s discussed now because of Trump.

ILLEGAL DEPORTATION: would not have been a discussion by the GOP without Trump. It forced Cruz to begin changing his H1B support.

BANNING MUSLIM REFUGEES: Trump. 100% Trump. Cruz and everyone else held back.

NAFTA, CAFTA, TPP: Trump. He’ll penalize companies that take cash and jobs overseas. He’ll tariff China for their 40% tariff on US merchandise.

Not Cruz. Not Rubio. Not Bush.

CHRISTIANITY: Trump. He will build safe zones and protect them.

It’s over, P-M.

Like most Trump supporters, I have been able to look the other way for many issues which have irritated his opponents. Going into this election cycle, I knew Trump would say and do things at odds with my beliefs. Considering his stance on immigration, common core, and his spectacular ability to handle the media, I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on most other issues. While having to cringe, I was even able to ignore his petty shots at Cruz — writing it off as a necessary component of winning the election. Besides, Trump was 100% correct about the inevitability of a Cruz NBC quagmire during the general election.

After learning of Trump's support for McConnell, and ethanol, I now have very serious concerns about Trump's judgment. Trump's ability to pick replacements for the Supreme Court is critical. If that court gets one more bad pick, I do not think our country will ever recover. Two more bad picks would certainly be the end. Being at odds with Trump over a few small issues is one thing, but having doubts about the future of the Supreme Court is downright scary.

“I joined to post my views & responses to others comments. Any wrong with that?”

It is when you are a troll trying to harm the conservative cause.

This is a conservative forum. You have no track record. Cruz has one. It may not be perfect, but by most standards, it is the most conservative of any presidential candidate.

So save all of your nasty “views & responses” for your home over at Democratic Underground where it belongs.

“Cruz may be ineligible to be president”

Liberal and Trump talking points.

Cruz was born a citizen. The only reason it is even being discussed is because Trump is using it to try to keep Cruz from getting an early lead in places like Iowa. There is no legal path in which Cruz is prevented from being president by attacking his citizenship. It is purely politics, and particularly “nasty” politics.

“those loans weren’t disclosed”

Yes, they were disclosed. They were disclosed in one form but not in another required form. It does not take any intelligence to see this was an error. If he was doing this dishonestly and intentionally, he would not have disclosed this on another form. The only reason the error was found is BECAUSE he did disclose on another form. So, if anyone is convinced he intentionally failed to disclose this, then they must admit he made a mistake by accidentally disclosing it elsewhere. So, regardless of his intent, it is absolutely clear he made a mistake in his disclosure. But his opponents would have us believe he is a crook who accidentally disclosed it one place and not another, as opposed to failing to disclose it one place accidentally. In other words, those who accuse him are claiming to be mind readers.

Intent is a major element in proving most crimes. Can you give any reason why someone like Cruz would disclose this information in one form but not another? There is nothing to gain. It was a mistake. And even Donald knows it, which reflects poorly that he has to resort to such tactics rather than sticking to issues.

“flip flopping on illegal immigration”

Just more lib and Trump talking points. Most conservative organizations that follow candidates track records, especially voting records, rate Cruz as the most conservative candidate. He has stood firm on principle when others caved and went along with the crowd. That is leadership.

“I am a conservative.”

You have no track record here as such. So I will continue to alert other Free Republic members to your and others’ last minute participation here to bash the most conservative candidate.

After you have a few years of consistently conservative contributions here, I will happily acknowledge your conservative track record. Right now, you have zilch.

We can thank our education system for that when 46% believe Judge Judy is one of the members of SCOTUS.

Interesting ... by my tally of 1,030 FReeper voices so far who've weighed in one way or the other on Trump, a little less than 46% name Trump as their first choice. What a coincidence that the number matches the Judge Judy SCOTUS LIVs!

{^)

Happily, Jarhead, regardless of how loudly, aggressively, and frequently the Trump-First supporters post on FR, the fact remains that the majority, more than 54% by my ongoing cumulative tally, either name Trump as their SECOND choice or declare that Trump is junk as an option altogether. Most of that 54%, though not all, name Cruz as their first choice.

You and I are among the silent(er!) majority. I was so amused just reading another post by a FReeper advocating for Trump, praising Trump because his lifelong-Democrat mom is so impressed with Trump that she would be happy to vote for him in the general! Yeah, "The Donald" is such a winner ... for Democrats!!!

What gets me is all these people who are so intent on "winning" that they don't care what they win. It's like the Dad in the Christmas Story with his "major award," the world's ugliest lamp. But hey -- he was a winner! He WON!!!!

Who cares what you win, as long as you win! That seems to be the mindset of perennial LOSERS in the Republican party, whether the candidate is Mitt Romney or Donald Trump.
