No, just aware.

How else is The Donald gonna get the trailer park vote?

(Don’t attack me for making fun of trailer parks, I have lived in a couple over the years).

More like “Guess what Trump will do now”. It has nothing to do with Cruz.

A reality TV star asks for an endorsement from another reality TV star

Are you saying Trump paid Sarah to endorse him?

That family is beginning to display a dominant trailer trash gene.

Beginning?

I won’t put it all on Cruzers. Trumpsters have had their share, too, but there is an element of Puritanism among Cruzers.

Agreed.

They better lose some of that Puritanism if Ted wins the nomination.

It won’t be a big seller in the general. Most people have human problems and family members that get out of control.

It is a sad fact of living.

Guilty as charged.

John Adams: Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

Except Adams NEVER governed as Cruz’s language says he would govern (as a “puritan”) and Adams completely realized he was president of all the people, not just the Christians. And, of course, Madison and Jefferson both strongly disagreed with Adams insofar as it meant aligning with any particular “brand” of Christianity.

Is it a coincidence that the farther we have drifted as a nation from our moral principles, the farther we have drifted from the Constitution? Or is there a tie in somewhere?

When the Supreme Court ruled that God was no longer welcome in the schools and that Abortion is a sacred right, the constitution died.

But...Ted...Cruz...is....not....a...Natural....Born....Citizen!!!

I agree there has been a great deal of separation. But it is ahistorical to look back and pretend that the Founders were Pentecostals who, as Cruz's dad does, would speak of Ted being a "King" "Ordained to reign" over America. Those are his words. Now, I, as a "person of faith," know exactly what Rafael means and in the right context, absolutely. But you cannot possibly explain that context to the vast majority of Americans and it sounds, well, creepy.

That's why the Founders all the way up to John Quincy, while they spoke generically of God and God's blessings, never would have approved of this kind of religious tie-in. Madison was especially a-religious---not a Deist, but absolutely not a "Bible Thumper" like Adams. Certainly Jefferson (perhaps the closest of all the Founders to a Deist), was not either, nor Monroe.

In fact, I would argue in many ways that Washington was more of a traditional Christian than John Adams.

Where we have slipped badly is in the overriding presumption that ALL of them had, well into the mid 20th century, that America was a nation protected and inspired by God (Reagan's "city on a hill") and that it overwhelmingly was a Christian nation. All but a few would have interpreted that to mean "Christian Protestant" nation. Interestingly, it is Trump, not Cruz, who is really speaking THAT language, rather than the more narrow kind of "God-talk" (which, again, I completely understand) that Cruz uses.

I doubt Adams would have advocating sticking a pair of scissors in the base of baby's skull to kill it before completely clearing the birth Canal.

I doubt Adams would have advocating the taking of my earning and handing it out freely to those that snuck into this country violating its laws.

I doubt Adams would have advocating the taking of an Old Womans home so some rich Developer could build a whore house/casino. So let's put things in perspective here.

Perspective: that kind of language used by Cruz was exactly the language of King George Adams and the rest abhorred.
