A Texas woman, wanting to give a homeless guy some reprieve from the cold and a warm place to rest, invited him in to stay the night in her spare bedroom.

The 66-year-old woman, whose name was not released, lives alone with her two granddaughters in Houston. With a spare bedroom and a big heart, she offered the space to Thomas Smith, who had no place else to go. Everyone in the house had turned in for the night, or so the woman thought, when she was woken up by what Smith was doing, just after 1:30 a.m.
According to KPRC, Smith said he heard a "big old boom," which startled him out of bed, but it apparently didn't wake the woman and her granddaughters. Smith assumed someone was trying to break in the home, but he soon found that was not the case. As he opened the door to the homeowner's bedroom, he saw what was on top of her and acted fast.
Smoke was filling up the house as an explosion in the attic caused the place to go up in flames. The caring grandmother was still in her bed, but she was covered by sheet rock that had broken free and fallen on her, after the boom. Smith rushed to clear the debris off her and pulled her out of the bed and her house to seek safety, but the girls were still stuck inside.
The heroic homeless man braved the burning temperatures and potential of suffering smoke inhalation to go back inside the house to rescue the 8 and 10-year-old girls from their beds. With the children in his arms, he bravely marched out of the front door, reuniting the girls with their grandma.

Very good!
The Huston FD needs to Award this man With its highest award.
An angel.
Ok, funny. A little jaded, and not too nice, but funny.
My tagline
NB: I’m fairly certain the Hebrew writer wasn’t referring to muslim men of military age though. :-)
Ok, I am having a hard time with this statement. How does one live alone with someone else?
:-)
Same here.
Is it wrong I chuckled there?
It would have been a very different ending with muslim men, of ANY age.
My first thought. This was a God thing.
only God.
It isn’t uncommon to have forced air gas furnaces in the attic.

Hopefully this story is what it sounds like but I’ll reserve judgment until the Fire Marshal finishes his investigation on what caused the fire.
Bmp
Happy ending, but what kind of person lets a stranger sleep in her home? with her 2 grandchildren there?
.
AMEN!!
