Cruz spokesman: I’d be “deeply disappointed” if Sarah Palin endorses a progressive like Trump

This makes me think it is Palin who's going to endorse Trump today and that Team Cruz knows it. Otherwise Rick Tyler would have answered this question differently, in spokesman-ese. You know how it goes: "Oh, listen, I'm not going to speculate about who's endorsing who. Ted Cruz admires Governor Palin, she and Ted Cruz have been allies since he joined the Senate, but endorsements aren't going to win this race. Iowans are going to decide based on who has the better record standing up to the Washington cartel and that's obviously Senator Cruz." He doesn't say that. What he's doing here is a sort of "prebuttal" -- surely, surely, an icon of populist conservatism like Sarah Palin isn't about to throw in with the biggest RINO in the race, a guy who was busy praising Barack Obama in the media on the very day that the tea party was born. If her endorsement's still in play for Cruz, why would Tyler antagonize her by saying backing Trump would be a blow to her credibility instead of saying something flattering instead? He must know something.

You wanted confirmation so I found a thread where the speech is discussed and there on the front page is a quote from Cruz saying Trump was “no where” to be found in the amnesty debate in previous years.

The truth is Trump was writing about in in his book published in 2011 when Cruz was talking about the need to keep the 14th amendment and has since been flip flopping all over the place.

The fact is, I (like many FReepers) was supporting Ted Cruz long before Trump got into the race, and I have done my absolute best to NOT post anything negative regarding Cruz, I have posted legitimate observations which might not be viewed favorably by his extreme attack-dog fanbois and girls here on FR, but as Finley Peter Dunne said, "politics ain't beanbag".

I daresay that if Ted Cruz spent a day reading over some of the comments here on FR made by the above mentioned attack-dogs, he would disavow them, and tell them to knock it off.

The behavior of a candidate's supporters speaks volumes about the candidate. Scorn, derision, personal insults, chortling and crowing at the prospect of victory over Cruz -- like supporter, like candidate.

My preference is for Cruz.

I've seen nastiness from both sides towards the other, and it's been legion and will likely get worse until one of them wins. It's been fairly even from what I can see.

I've seen a lot more nastiness from Trump supporters. I also have seen, in individual voices (because I keep count) MORE FReepers like you, who prefer Cruz, than people who prefer Trump. By my count, it's not "fairly even," it is tipped in Cruz's favor with regard to preference.

Neither is it "fairly even" with regard to hostile angry personal attacks; Trump's supporters dominate in that tactic of "debate."
